Palo Verde National Park. Ostional Wildlife Refuge ~ Playa Grande Las Baulas Natural Park. The Park is extended largely along the
banks of the Tempisque River. It offers broad ecological diversity within its habitat of lagoons and both salted and sweet-water marshes. Its fauna includes 279 species of land and water birds, howler monkeys, deers, coyotes and the most attractive, the crocodiles. Surf
tour to Roca Bruja. Here you can find 10 different natural habitats: more than 600 plant species, 75 different kinds of mammals, 260 species of birds; the insect population is beyond count and butterflies alone comprise over 2.000 species. Other park attractions are the national museum of La Casona, the ancient stone corrals and the spectacular beaches of Nancite and Naranjo. In Playa Roca Bruja the surfers will enjoy the fabulous waves... It is located in the volcanic mountain range of Guanacaste and includes the huge massif formed by the Rincon de la Vieja and Santa Maria Volcanoes. There are also hot sulfur springs and geysers. Barra Honda National Park is situated near the Gulf of Nicoya. The Barra Honda mountain ridge is about 60 million years old and it contains an extensive network of individual limestone caves, 19 of which have been explored up to now. A number of these caves are filled with a lively variety of formations, including stalagmites, stalactites, pillars, pearls, shark's teeth, flowers and needles of gypsum. The refuge is extended close to Nosara River where there is the second most important Pacific site for the nesting of different kinds of sea turtles. In Playa Grande you can witness an extraordinary success of nature in the months of October until March, when huge turtles enter this beach to lay their eggs. The Baula turtles measure up to 2 meters and can weigh 1,500 pounds. The turtles digs a hole 60 cm (2 feet) deep above the high tide line, lays approximately 100 eggs, then fills the hole with sand and returns to the sea. In the northern region of Costa Rica are located Volcano and Lake Arenal. The volcano is really a perfect cone and it is the most active volcano in the world. It is a must-see on any tourist's itinerary. At the base of Arenal volcano is Tabacon Hot Springs, where steaming waters of the Rio Tabacon tumble from the lava fields and cascade alongside the road. Here flora is varied with species such as the mountain guayabo, freijo, rosewood, chicle tree; the main species of fauna are the paca, bairds tapir, jaguar, deer and birds such as parrots, and quetzal.
Just a few feet below, you will admire young marine rocks, coral formations and lush marine life. There are some walls, bridges, caverns and tunnels. All
tours are guided by a S.S.I. Instructor. Enjoy the most beautiful fishing spots in the Pacific Ocean on a fully rigged 31 foot boat with teak cockpit, tower and full electronics. Regular seasons for fishing are the months of July and August and between December and April. Ride a horse in the wild nature of Costa Rica, discover secluded beaches with crystal water, falls and the forest with its different flora and fauna. Enjoy the sunset. in the white water, one of the most popular tourist activity in Costa Rica. The best time is in the rainy season during the months of May through October when the level of the rivers is high. Looking for dolphins and turtles! On the typical Costa Rican boat, called Panga, enjoy the view of the coast. During the
tour it is possible to see dolphins and turtles: fishing is also possible. For a different morning let us organize for you a nice picnic on Isla Chora, the small island with white sand in front of Playa Samara.
