La Cloche A small French restaurant next door to The Isba chalet hotel which has a delightfully intimate atmosphere. Service is excellent without being intrusive. Classic French cooking with lots of local dishes on the menu. The evening menu is more gastronomic (and more pricey!). There is a nice terrace in front which is a great suntrap later in the season. Le Chabichou A 2* Michelin restaurant attached to a 4*hotel. The restaurant offers a good value lunch menu with quality food in a stunning setting. Eat on the sunny terrace or pop on the slippers provided (no ski boots allowed) to eat inside. Wine tasting tours can be arranged in the restored wine cellar where the most expensive wine is a 1970 Petrus (4,000!). Le Genepi A lovely restaurant where everything is home made, including the bread. Run by a husband and wife team this restaurant has two separate areas allowing groups to have their own private parties! Make the most of the lovely atmosphere by arriving early and sipping your aperitif in front of the fire. La Saulire Very much a place to be seen. The fabulous menu attracts the in-crowd who sit out on the sunny terrace at lunch time watching the rest of Courchevel go by! The imaginative main courses and melt in the mouth desserts dont come cheap but for that special occasion La Saulire is well worth a visit. Le Tremplin Ideally situated for that post ski bite as it is at the foot of the slope next to La Croisette. This large eatery concentrates on a seafood menu but does offer some alternatives particularly at lunchtime. The evening menu can be a little expensive so you may wish to choose from the Oyster Bar or the Creperie next door! Bar lEquipe If you are looking for a full English breakfast, burgers or wood-fire cooked pizzas then this is the place for you. Very centrally located (opposite the Isba chalet hotel) this bar has a lively apres-ski atmosphere. Reasonably priced menu and a great happy hour from 4-6pm, means this bar/restaurant has quickly become a favourite of the English contingent in Courchevel. Le Refuge Typical French restaurant with wooden tables and bench seating. Good value, basic Savoyarde dishes make this a favourite with the locals. Situated just along the road from the Isba chalet hotel and around the corner from the Three Musketeers it is centrally located but can be quieter than some of the other eateries. Le Cap Horn The place in Courchevel for an extravagant lunch. If lunch is too expensive for you (nothing here is cheap!) why not pop in for a mid-afternoon drink and enjoy listening to the DJ spinning discs from a piste basher! There is a drinks only area which offers a more reasonable menu and a chance to sit and watch the rich and famous go in and out of the restaurant proper. Dining in the evening is strictly by reservation only but you do get to choose from the wine list starting at 35 up to 13,200 per bottle! La Soucoupe Make sure you visit the restaurant on the top floor rather than the self-service restaurant downstairs. This lovely warm wooden chalet is a favourite with regular visitors to Courchevel. The sunny terrace has stunning views over Courchevel and the meat dishes are grilled on an open log fire. The delicious food includes favourites such as steak and fish dishes abut also local specialities such as foie gras pan-fried with onion compote. Le Chalet de Pierres Run by Madame Saxe for the last 19 years, this gastro French restaurant is legendry for its dessert buffet. The main restaurant can be pricey but the side bar offers crepes and snacks at reasonable prices. Booking is essential if you wish to eat in the evenings but they do send a snow caterpillar to pick you up! LArc-en-ciel Although still part of the Courchevel Valley, this restaurant is only one lift away from Meribel so a great place to stop. A wide selection of food is on offer at reasonable prices. You will also find one of the best hot chocolates on the mountain here! There is a snack bar downstairs for those on a tight budget. Les Chenus This large self-service restaurant has a great terrace with lots of deck chairs. Just perfect for sunning yourself whilst sipping your drinks from the adjoining bar. Lots of simple dishes and snacks at reasonable prices make it a favourite with those not wanting to spend a fortune. Les Verdons Known primarily as a convenient meeting point, those in the know tend not to eat here. If you do stop here have a drink and make use of the sunny terrace before skiing on!
Val d'Isere is one of the finest ski resorts in the world. Amazing snow records, a vast ski area and an extremely efficient lift system are what makes L'Espace Killy (Val d'Isere Tignes) so popular.
