We have luxury double rooms - 3 with four-poster beds. These rooms are spacious, with a jacuzzi bath as well as a shower in the en-suite, a DVD player and complimentary waters and fresh fruit. We also have 3 superior rooms which have king size beds and baths as well as showers in the en-suite bathrooms. Again these rooms are spacious. We then have 4 standard double rooms which have double bed and showers in the en-suite. We also have a small standard double room, with a double bed and again a shower in the en-suite. Finally we have 3 rooms able to accommodate more than 2 people 1 with both a double and single bed, 1with a king size sleigh bed and a single bed and one special suite which has a double bed, a single bed, and a separate lounge area with a double sofa bed! All of our rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, radio, hairdryer and direct dial telephone.

The Rothay Garth is the perfect base from which to explore the many beautiful areas of The Lake District whether on foot or on 2 wheels! We have our very own walking guide which is available from reception with a collection of Classic Lake District walks with directions from our very own front door! From the gentle amble round Rydal and Grasmere to the day long hike round Fairfield Horseshoe our book will guide you from your very first step to your very last! When you arrive back safely we have a drying cupboard for your boots and jackets if required. We can offer your bikes hotel accommodation for the night too!! We will keep your mountain bike in our secure shed which we lock every night. If you are unsure where to head to we have some route maps which are graded doddle, dodgy or deadly and we also keep a good puncture repair kit on site. Finally, as well as use of the drying cupboard for shoes and jackets, we have a hose pipe which you can use on your bike to clean off any mud. For those days when you don't want to venture out in the Lake District rain guests at The Rothay Garth have use of the Langdale Hotel and Country Club. Tickets can be purchased at reception for the club which is a very pleasant 10 minute drive away up the Langdale Valley where you will find a fully equipped exercise studio, a 20m swimming pool, a steam room, a spa bath, a sanarium and, finally, for those brave enough to try it - a deluge shower! As well as a walking book we also offer a Days Out by Car book, again with directions from our car park to such popular destinations as Muncaster Castle, Tarn Hows and the lost village of Mardale. We even tell you where to stock up on fuel and where to find the toilets!!

Here at The Rothay Garth we have a large, comfortable lounge for you to relax in with stunning views of the Lake District fells, a choice of daily papers, a selection of local interest books and magazines or, if you prefer, you can simply doze off in front of our lovely open fire! For those who may require something of substance after a hard days walking on the Lake District fells, or a well deserved pre-dinner drink to start your evening we offer a resident's drinks service between 2pm - 8.30pm. Enjoy impressive views of some of the Lake District 's classic mountains from the comfort of your chair! From the conservatory you can watch the world go by, read a book or try and count how many fell walkers you can see marching up Loughrigg Fell!! Large Private Car Park. One of the great things about staying at The Rothay Garth is that you can always find a car parking space. We have room for 18 vehicles. The Rothay Garth has a beautiful landscaped garden with seating areas from which you can enjoy the Lake District mountain scenery, or a leisurely drink. Served from 1:30pm until 5:30pm we offer a menu serving up sandwiches with a lovely salad garnish and crisps. For those walkers planning a long day on the Lake District fells we will happily fill your flasks with hot or cold drinks, and we offer a fell walkers packed lunch to keep you going until tea time!
