bedroom country house hotel, it was originally built at the turn of the century by a local farmer for his daughter. It was, as its name implies, 'The Grange' to Rickerby House, which is situated close by the village. Set in its own
gardens, Rickerby Grange offers a friendly ambience in peaceful surroundings, overlooked by Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Causey Pike. All areas of the Lake District are easily accessed, making Portinscale the perfect base from which to explore this magnificent corner of England. ur traditional, freshly prepared four-course
dinners are prepared with care and imagination and served in the elegant
dining room. A carefully selected wine list complements our
cuisine during an evening at Rickerby Grange. Relax with your favourite

bedrooms are all centrally heated and equipped with colour

hospitality tray. All but one are fully en-
suite, with a choice of
bath or
shower. We have a ground-floor
bedroom. n Portinscale, a boat
club and marina with wind-surfing and canoeing facilities nestle quietly on the lakeside. A bridge over the river Greta links Portinscale and Keswick with a footpath - a lovely walk with glorious views. Portinscale is an ideal location for those who appreciate the delights of the countryside with the convenience of town close by. The English Lake District incorporates stunning landscape of mountains, lakes and cascading waterfalls, of tiny villages and market towns. A labyrinth of footpaths cross-cross the countryside, taking you through spectacular scenery and magical
beauty spots, through forests, fields and over fells. By-passing Keswick on the main A66 Cockermouth road, turn left at the Portinscale sign. Proceed up the road passing the Farmers Arms Inn on the left
turn down the 2nd lane on the right. This lane is signposted Footpath to Ullock Swinside. Rickerby Grange is on the right hand side after a short distance. The hotel has a large private car park.

Breakfast Menu, to give you the perfect start to your day, is served from 8.30 to 9.00am. In the Evening, our four course table d'hote
dinner, for which we have earned a high reputation, will complete the enjoyment of your stay.
Dinner is served between 7.00 7.30pm. We are happy to cater for vegetarians, but do require advance notice.
BOOKING CONDITIONS Deposits A deposit of £25 per person is required within 5 days of booking to secure your reservation. Deposits are not refundable in the even of cancellation.
