How+to+Reach+Sorrento. Sorrento is in the middle of a coastline that, besides a number of islands, offers plenty of magnificent places for their naturalistic and landscape value, as well as important historical sites. Not to forget the park around the most famous volcano in the world and the surronding nature. We are in one of the most appreciated areas in the world. World famous islands such as Capri and Ischia, with their exclusive athmosperes, their enchanting corners and the beautiful sea. Unforgettable places such as Positano, Amalfi and Ravello or the precious archeological sites extending from Baia to Herculaneum and Pompeii. How to get to Sorrento by plane: The nearest
airport to Sorrento, only 50 km far, is Capodichino. The
airport is linked to the main Italian and European towns by different airlines that, often, propose interesting offers depending on the season of the year. From the
airport there are different ways to get to Sorrento. The most comfortable and the cheapest as well, if available at your arrival time, is bus service by Curreri. The bus is just outside the arrival gate and for less than 5 euro takes you straight to Piazza Tasso, the main square of Sorrento and in good traffic condition it takes about one hour. Different solutions may be
taxi or
transfer services that the most agencies in Sorrento offer for a price between 70 and 100 Euro. From the
airport there are also buses,
taxi and shuttles to the Circumvesuviana rail station from where you can catch the local trains to Sorrento every half hour or to Beverello port from where you catch the hydrofoils and ferries to Sorrento. We suggest you to use these last transports only if you don't find any better solution as they are little comfortable and tiring. How to get there by train: the train station Napoli Centrale Piazza Garibaldi of the State Rail is linked to Sorrento by the Circumvesuviana local trains. As soon as you get to Napoli Centrale take the stairs to the underground and you'll get to the Circumvesuviana station. The price of the
ticket is about 2.60 Euro and you can buy it at the
ticket strand or at some newsagent in the station. The journey from Naples takes about one hour and depending on the time, can be more or less comfortable. The trains are infact often crowded but unluckly they represent the fastest and cheapest way to reach Sorrento. How to get there by car: Any direction you are coming from take the highway to Naples. Follow the A3 to the Sorrentine Peninsula and take the Castellamare di Stabia exit. From Castellamare drive along the main road for about 23 km. You pass through the villages of Vico Equense, Sant'agnello as far as Sorrento, the last village you find. The state road in the most touristic period, from June to September, can be stucked with traffic and sometimes it takes more than one hour to drive the 23 km from Castellamare to Sorrento. How to get there by sea: If you are in the town
centre of Naples it can be very comfortable to reach Sorrento by sea. There are different hydrofoils and ferries linking Naples to Sorrento. Depending on the transport it takes about 40 minutes to get to Sorrento. The journey is more comfortable than the train one even if more expensive (about the double). The hydrofoils and the ferries get to the port of Sorrento that is about 500 mt far from the town
centre. We suggest you to get to the
centre by the shuttle buses you find in the little square.

Comments: 18 Page: ( 1/4 ). Tuesday 10 June 2008. Our family (husband, 15 17 year old boys, and myself) traveled to Sorrento with my sister, her husband and their 21 year old daughter. We had read positive things about the Hotel Del Corso on
Trip Advisor, and can happily say we were not disappointed. As a refreshing destination after a long journey on train down from Rome, we all found the hotel charming. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and readily available. It was an all around pleasure to stay there. Our quad-
room was quite comfortable for all of us – even our teenagers like it. My sister said hers was fine as well. A number of times we would go up to the upper
balcony visit and enjoy the view. Very relaxing. The hotel location was perfect as our time was limited. We need only step out of the hotel and were right in the best section to stroll and see the town. We would definitely recommend it to families traveling with teenagers as well as couples. (I am only limiting this because we didn’t have younger children with us.). Oene and Jane Schreuder Amsterdam The Netherlands. We loved our stay at Hotel del Corso. Thank you all for such good hospitality! Sincerely, Jane and Oene Schreuder. Thursday 06 September 2007. Pauline, Pam Louise Bridgeman Battle England. We've just arrived home from staying in your hotel for 3 nights would like to say thankyou so much for looking after us so well! It was perfect in every way. We're all looking forward to staying with you again. Missing Sorrento already, many thanks, Pauline, Pam Louise. Wednesday 11 July 2007 randy coleman randy Greenville USA. Luca...wow what a great hotel. Our stay there was the best. Thanks for all the help in where to eat and where to go. Lucca is the best
tour guide in all of Italy (especially when Sorrento wins in soccer) The hotel is excellent and our stay was the best of our
trip in Italy. thanks and see you soon!! Friday 21 October 2005. Katherine Pulzone Louisville USA. Dear Luca, Once again, what a wonderful time we had in Sorrento and at your hotel. It felt just like home and we regret having to leave after only 5 days. You, your father and the rest of the staff were wonderful and I can't find enough words to thank you. Also, you make a great cup of
coffee! See you next year. Katherine Pulzone and family.
