Amenities Our guests are served a continental
breakfast daily, which they may receive in our
tea room or in their
guest room, and also receive a complimentary paper each morning and a fruit basket upon arrival. The White Swan Tavern offers free

room downstairs offers

Tea is served daily between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the rate of $5 per person for the public, and free for our guests. The White Swan also offers amenities for small

Local Attractions See: Chestertown, Maryland. established in 1706, was once an important sea port during the colonial period and is now the county seat of Maryland's Kent County. Chestertown is not a town that history forgot, rather, it is a town that history gratefully remembers. Proud of their colonial past, residents have been restoring many of the Georgian and Federal homes built during the 18th century by wealthy merchants. Many of the beautiful old mansions are open to the public during the celebrated Candlelight
Tour, as well as at other times such as the
Garden Tour, and the Christmas
Tour. There are also special events throughout the year such as: the. held annually to remember Chestertown's own version of the Boston
Tea Party; Antique Show; and Wildlife Festival. The is a 1768 reproduction schooner that invites students and members of the public the opportunity to sail on the Chester River and gain a greater appreciation for the history and natural environment of the Chesapeake Bay. The. providing drama productions and live music entertainment, is right across the street from the White Swan. We are happy to provide guests with information on these and other events and activities. There are many interesting things to do and see in the area, as well as unique shopping and terrific
restaurants. Chestertown is also home to. the tenth oldest college in the nation. The
quiet pace of the Eastern Shore makes for a wonderful retreat whether you are a sailing enthusiast, a cyclist eager to enjoy some of the best
bike riding in the region, or someone who simply wants to enjoy a great book while having afternoon

Directions From Northern Baltimore and Northern Baltimore suburbs (about one hour and 15 minutes): Take 95 North/East to the Elkton exit and take 213 South towards Chestertown. In Galena, there is a traffic light at which 213 changes direction; turn right, stay on 213, and proceed into Chestertown. Continue past Washington College toward Chestertown's historic district. Turn right at the traffic light for Cross Street. Go straight through the first traffic signal, then make the next left onto Cannon Street. White Swan
parking is just ahead on the left, look for the sign. After
parking, follow the White Swan reception sign. From Baltimore (about one hour and 15 minutes): Take 97 South to 50 East/301 North and travel over the Bay Bridge. Continue on 50/301 through Kent Island. At the 50/301 split, bear left and stay on 301 toward Wilmington. Five miles north, turn right at the 213 North exit toward Centreville. Follow 213 North for approximately 17 miles to Chestertown. After crossing the Chester River bridge, turn left at the first traffic light onto Cross Street. Go straight through the first traffic signal, then make the next left onto Cannon Street. White Swan
parking is just ahead on the left, look for the sign. After
parking, follow the White Swan reception sign. From Washington, D.C. (about one hour and 25 minutes) and points West: Take 50 East past Annapolis and travel over the Bay Bridge. Continue on 50/301 through Kent Island. At the 50/301 split, bear left and stay on 301 toward Wilmington. Five miles north, turn right at the 213 North exit toward Centreville. Follow 213 North for approximately 17 miles to Chestertown. After crossing the Chester River bridge, turn left at the first traffic light onto Cross Street. parking, follow the White Swan reception sign. From Philadelphia (about one hour and 40 minutes) and points North: Take 95 South to 896 South, which turns into 301 South. Take 301 to 291, continue on until 213 South. At the traffic light, turn left onto 213 South/Washington Avenue. Continue past Washington College toward Chestertown's historic district. Turn right at the traffic light for Cross Street. Go straight through the first traffic signal, then make the next left onto Cannon Street. White Swan

From Salisbury (about one hour and 45 minutes) and points South: Take 13 North through Salisbury (consider taking the bypass to avoid the traffic and stops). Turn onto 50 West and travel through Cambridge and Easton to the junction of 50 and 213. At the traffic light turn right onto 213 North and continue on to Chestertown. After crossing the Chester River bridge, turn left at the first traffic light onto Cross Street. Go straight through the first traffic signal, then make the next left onto Cannon Street. White Swan

Reservation Policies: are per night, double occupancy; tax is not included in the rates. For additional guests or an additional bed in any of our
rooms, add $30 per person, plus tax to the
room rate. You must inform us when booking the
room if there will be more than two people using it. Four of our
rooms have a maximum capacity of three people;
two rooms can sleep maximum four people if necessary. Md. sales tax is 5%, County lodging tax is another 5% Check in time is between 3:00 - 10:00 p.m. We DO NOT guarantee late check-in. Late check-in must be arranged at least 3 days in advance. There may be a fee for late check in. Check out time is 12:00 noon. We do not accept children under about twelve years old. business rates. Click here for printable condensed brochure. Deposit policy: On one-night reservations, we require payment in full at the time the reservation is booked to confirm. For
one room, multiple nights, we require one night's payment in full, balance due upon or before arrival. On two or more
rooms, multiple nights, we require one night's payment in full to confirm the reservation; balance is due 30 days prior to the date of the reservation. On full house and special event bookings we generally require one nights deposit at time of booking, balance due 60 days prior to the date of the reservation. For some special events we may require payment in full at time of booking with no refund on cancellations. All bookings made beyond the cancellation date may be charged in full at the time of confirmation. Cancellation policy: We are a small inn and cancellations can affect us significantly, therefore we adhere to the following cancellation and refund policies: Last minute cancellations, regardless of the reason, will result in forfeiture of your payment. You may send a friend or family member in your place so long as you inform us before their arrival; however gift certificates are not
transferable. For cancellation of
one or two rooms, we require 14 days notice prior to your scheduled arrival date. For three or more
rooms, we require 30 days notice of cancellation prior to arrival date. For special event bookings, we require 60 days notice of cancellation to refund your deposit. There may be a charge per
room on cancellations. For

Wedding Groups and Bridal
Parties: To hold all
rooms for a group of guests coming to a
wedding or similar event on a weekend, you must reserve all six
rooms for two nights, and guarantee payment in full plus a non refundable $100.00 handling fee that is required at time of booking. If you would then still prefer the guests book and pay for their individual
rooms, after the date of the reservation the original deposit will be refunded, minus any
rooms not booked or paid for by the guests. If you cannot fill all six
rooms and wish to cancel, you must cancel ALL SIX
rooms at least 90 days in advance of the reservation date, or forfeit your deposit. You MAY NOT cancel individual
rooms. If the bride and/or bridesmaids are staying at the White Swan, our policy is the same with regards to payment, with a non refundable service fee of $200.00 above the cost of all
rooms two nights. Any individual, group, or full house bookings who wish to have any kind of gathering or function at the White Swan must clear that with the manager when booking the
rooms. This includes photography sessions. There may be additional fees. At the Managers discretion, we may choose to waive our No Children Under Twelve Policy if you book the entire Inn. Events at the White Swan are limited in size to a maximum of 60 persons. Management reserves the right to change or customize all policies for individual bookings.
