Public Transportion, 1 page, 180K. Take the San Diego trolley to the Mexican border. After you walk across the bridge (that crosses the highway), go to the right and walk through the revolving gate. Continue straight ahead for a few hundred meters and take the first right turn that you see. Go through the revolving gate. Cross the street, turn left and continue walking up the sidewalk. After it turns to the right, you will see the bus station ahead. The bus line is called ABC. Buses leave every hour to Ensenada. If all you have is carry-on luggage, when you get on the bus, ask the driver to leave you off in El Sauzal at the traffic light (semaforo). If you don't speak Spanish, show him the following request, already written out in Spanish for you: Estimado chofer, pudiera usted decirme cuando lleguemos a El Sauzal y dejarme cercas del semaforo de El Sauzal. Mi equipaje lo tengo aqui conmigo. Sometimes the driver forgets and goes right on past El Sauzal. You can help him remember. There are 2 toll booths along the highway that he will have to stop at. When he stops at the 2nd one (about 1 hour and 15 minutes after departure) you are only 2 miles away from El Sauzal. If possible, remind him at that time. Once you've been dropped in the vicinity of the PEMEX gas station, use this map to find the hostel. You may want to print the map on the. From Ensenada, 1 page, 219K. If you take the bus all the way in to Ensenada, you will arrive at one of 3 bus stations. The Aragon bus line has its own station. The ABC bus line has 2: the main station on Calle Riveroll and a secondary station on Calle 6. From this downtown area, you will need to catch a micro, one of the small local buses, which will take you to El Sauzal where the hostel is located. The Aragon station and the ABC main station are both on Calle Riveroll. The place where you catch a micro is on Calle Miramar. From either station, walk over to Calle Miramar and down that street a few blocks (towards the harbor and the giant flagpole). Look for a store on called Milano the left side of the street. There will be lots of small yellow buses coming and going. Get on the one that says El Sauzal. It costs 5 pesos or $.55 US. If you are dropped off at the secondary ABC bus station, you can see on the map that you are even closer to the micros. On the El Sauzal micro, you will backtrack along the main highway you came in on for about 6 miles. Use this map to watch for landmarks as you approach El Sauzal. When you see the long blue warehouse and the traffic light say Aqui, por favor (aqui is pronounced a key). The hostel is only a few blocks from here. Problems? Call us at 174-6381

There are 3 toll booths along the way. The 3rd toll booth is at San Miguel. Two miles farther, the small town of El Sauzal begins as you pass under a footbridge, and another mile beyond that is a traffic light. Turn left at the light. Go 2 blocks, turn right.
