;Aroi; (;delicious; in Thai) is what the Pansand;s restaurant is all about. We serve delicious food which is exciting and fun to eat; this is our national heritage. Thai food traditions were established, in part, here in the Andaman Sea. Centuries ago, sailors who traveled these waters to trade goods between China and India, forever influenced our culinary traditions with their own. In addition to classic Thai dishes, we also serve Chinese food, and even many Western (European and American) foods. All our menu items are reasonably priced. We think you will be pleased with our broad range of food and beverage selections. And if you don;t see what you want, we hope you;ll ask about it. We prepare, in many styles, freshly-caught seafood: crab, king prawns, squid, shrimp and a variety of fish;white snapper, trevally, sea bass, barracuda, grouper and others. We encourage you to try our delectable curries, our elegant;pla pae-sa; or our popular;hor mok; (seafood curry in a green coconut). Our kitchen is flexible. We serve vegetarian dishes, arrange special parties or dinners for our guests, clean and cook anglers; fishing catches, and supply;box lunches; for boat trips or picnics. Some evenings, we barbeque fish and chicken in front of the restaurant, or offer;specials;. To celebrate certain holidays, we throw parties with banquet buffets of Thai dishes;appetizers, entrees and desserts (we post the menus in advance, as our guests love anticipating these events). Our in-house bakery each day creates whole wheat and white breads, croissants, and other scrumptious treats, perhaps doughnuts, brownies or;island pastries; (a Pansand creation featured in;Thai Cuisine; magazine, June, 2001). Also, buns are baked daily, for the hamburgers which are served with our homemade potato chips or French fries. Refreshing cold beverages (as well as hot) are available throughout the day. We serve beers, fine wines and a full range of cocktails. In addition to MaiTai;s, Singapore Slings and the classics, we present our own cocktail concoctions, the;Bulon Anda; and;Bulon Rose;. The;Clean Food, Good Taste; certificate of Thailand;s Health Department has been awarded to our restaurant. To maintain our high standards of food quality, our kitchen brings in fresh fish, vegetables and other food supplies every day. In the mornings, enjoy our generous;all you can eat; breakfast buffet from 7:00 until 10:00. The buffet includes traditional Thai rice soup,;kow tom;; and standard Western fare: eggs, meat, pancakes or French toast, along with our delightful baked goods. We toast breads and croissants over an open fire, and offer just-cut fruits, juices, cereals and beverages. ©2005 First Andanman Travel International Co., Ltd. If you;ve been dreaming about an inviting, peaceful, white sand beach, visit ours. Our stunning beach is not crowded; you will find yourself in your own private paradise. Enjoy our soothing seashore. Relax. With bare feet, feel the clean, soft sand. Build a sandcastle. Read, in the shade or the sun of the long beach. Walk or jog. Wake early to watch spectacular sunrises. Watch the shorebirds, kingfishers, hornbills, sea eagles and Brahminy kites. Inspect seashells of intriguing shapes, sizes and colors;blues, pinks, oranges, white and black, purples. Breathe deeply the fresh sea air, the sweet tropical breezes. Listen to the rhythm of the waves, as they respond to the moon. Watch the Andaman;s colors change: vivid or quiet shades of turquoise, and blues and greens. Swim or snorkel in the crystal clear water. While swimming, you may see flying fish flashing by, or even dolphins. Snorkel (we have masks) to see, beneath the surface, the ancient limestone ecosystem first constructed by coral polyps thousands of years ago. Some of the species found in the reef are among the earth;s earliest forms of life. We treasure this underwater community, and encourage all to protect it against environmental threats. The magnificent and diverse coral reef welcomes considerate observers. Smile at the clownfish, which refuse to leave their anemone neighborhoods. Watch the parrot fish, Moorish idols and other handsome residents glide and dart through the water. Notice the variety of corals, including easily identified brain coral and staghorn coral. At the far end of the Pansand beach, jutting out from the earth, are impressive sharply-etched boulders. Some are black; others are marbled with gold, purple and ochre. At night, under brilliant, starry skies, hermit crabs parade across the beach. On occasion, surprising phosphorescence graces the night waves. And when the moon is full, and the tide most dramatic, silver sparkles dance across the purple sea: enchanting.
The Koh Bulon-Lae fishing village of about 100 Chao Lae people,;Sea Gypsies;, is located at Panka Bay, on the west side of the island. The village, a 15 minute walk from the Pansand, is reached by a trail crossing through the island;s ancient forest. This path, leads up and over the hilly central island, passing through lavish vegetation. The forests of this region are among the earth;s oldest, richest and most diverse.
