Located at the end of a country road, this is the perfect spot to unwind with friends and family. The cottage has three bedrooms and can sleep up to eight people. It has all the conveniences of home, including: washer/dryer, two TVs, VCR and DVD players, CD player, microwave, and dishwasher, and Weber gas grill. The house has an open concept living room/dining room/kitchen with cathedral ceiling and skylights on the main level. The master bedroom has a queen bed with en-suite bath featuring double sinks and a whirlpool tub. There is a half bath off the living room. The lower level of the house has a family room with a comfy futon, a bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with two twin beds that can be converted to king size, and another full bath. There is a staircase down to the rocky beach, and a sand beach just a mile and a half to our north. The Sawyer's only daughter, Ruth, became an award-winning author and published two books about her summers spent in their seaside cottage. Her daughter married author Robert McCloskey, famous for Make Way for Duckling and Blueberries for Sal. A collection of Sawyer's and McCloskey's books are included in the Inn's library for guests to enjoy during their stay. Some of our favorite things to do in the area... 1. 44° 15' 43.75 N 69° 01' 01.47 W. From the South: Once you have entered Maine, proceed north on I-95 to I-295 Exit 44 (formerly Exit 6A). From Portland, take I-295 North to Brunswick Exit 28(formerly Exit 22) to Route 1 North (Coastal Route). Follow Route 1 through Bath, Wiscasset, and Waldoboro, and turn left onto Route 90 a few miles beyond Waldoboro. In Rockport, Route 90 intersects Route 1, just south of Camden. Turn left onto Route 1 North and proceed six miles to Seaview Drive. Turn right at Abbington's Motel and continue towards water. From Bangor Area: Take I-95 South to Route 395/15 to Coastal Route 1A (Hampden exit). Follow 1A for approximately 24 miles. In Searsport, bear right onto Route 1 South. Continue on Route 1 through Searsport, Belfast, and Northport. Once you reach Lincolnville Beach, continue south for one and a half miles and turn left into Sea View Drive. Continue towards water.
