About the Innkeepers. Innkeepers Kay Glen Cameron are natives of the Ozark Mountains. For several generations their families have lived in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas. Kay taught home economics in secondary schools and at the college level. Glen also worked in the educational field, serving as teacher and superintendent in public schools before accepting an administrative position at The School of the Ozarks (now College of the Ozarks) in 1969. In 1982, Kay established Ozark Mountain Country Bed Breakfast Service, a reservation service for Bed and Breakfast inns throughout the Ozarks region of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. She still serves as coordinator of the service, which currently focuses primarily on BBs in Branson and the surrounding area. In 1986, Kay and Glen moved off the campus of College of the Ozarks and built a home South of Branson, atop a bluff overlooking Lake Taneycomo. There they opened Camerons Crag Bed Breakfast. The Ozarks cuisine is traditionally southern, influenced by the early German, French, English, Irish, and Scandinavian settlers. Kay has drawn on her knowledge of foods and an Ozark heritage in establishing the menus for the Bed and Breakfast. Along with opening her own BB, Kay established Katydid Publications, and in 1986 published the first edition of Breakfasts Ozark Style. This collection is a compilation of dishes from Kays own heritage and background as well as numerous offerings from Ozark Mountain Country BB hosts. This cookbook and other Katydid Publications editions are available online and in our Gift Shop. Kay is currently working on publication of a new cookbook. Glen held various positions at the College until 2003 when he retired as Dean of Campus and International Services after 34 years of service. Glen has been involved with Boy Scouts of America for many years, serving as District Chairman, Order of the Arrow Advisor, Council Commissioner, Council President, and Area Vice President among other capacities. A few months after his retirement from College of the Ozarks he became District Executive for Scouts. In 2006 he retired for a second time but continues to stay active in Scouting on a volunteer basis. Glen is an active Rotarian and is Past District Governor of Rotary International District 6080. He also devotes time and energy to several church, community, and civic organizations. The Camerons both enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. crag ((krag) n.
