There was a mansion of Princess Maria Petrovna Gagarina from 1801 to 1812, neighboring to the estates of General Bakhmetev, Princesses Shakhovskaya and Volkonskaya. This tract of Moscow has always belonged to rich noble families. This tract was damaged by fire in 1812 and the estate was burnt out as all the buildings were wooden. In 1861 the Emperor Alexander II presented this building to Anna Vasilyevna Fedorova, his favorite actress of Moscow Imperial theatre. In 1864, 1899 the building was greatly reconstructed by Anna Vasilyevna Fedorova and it became a beautiful stony mansion. There were not any changes until 1917. And after the revolution there were communal apartments. In 1993 the building was reconstructed again. The old mansion turned into high-class four-star hotel Club 27, that is done in classic style of an English club.
