Home was the keyword on this assignment. At Hotell Orebro, guests are names, not room numbers. Passing through or here for a longer stay, everyone has to feel at home in First Hotell Orebro. That's why great emphasis has been placed on the really important things. A good bed and roomy bathroom are always high on everyone's lists. Nowadays, many people also need to be able to use their computers just as if they were at home. Paying attention to people's comfort and needs, rather than investing in unnecessary show, is the best way of providing value for money, explains Peter Oxhamre.. Reception, foyer and bar are on the ground floor. Peter's first task was to make the hotel even more welcoming than before. Thus, the reception definitely had to be moved from the second floor! There was a narrow, windowless storeroom at street level. We took on the challenge and won! This area is now the reception and bar.. By integrating the classic reception desk with the bar counter, we were able to use the long narrow space to create a welcoming foyer where you can sit down and take a drink. It only takes one person to serve both reception and the bar. This creates a special atmosphere and is probably the solution I'm most pleased with, smiles Peter. He emphasizes the importance of creating environments that put guests at ease. Whether it's time for relaxing or emailing reports back to the office, guests have to feel they are in the right place. Warm, inviting colours and furnishings are a part of the solution. The stairway invites... Both up and down! Subtle lighting above each room door illuminates the corridors and the foyer bar has its own intimate charm. In the summer, the inner courtyard is a green oasis - a meeting place where guests can wind down surrounded by plants and flowers. The toughest nut to crack was the breakfast room on the lower deck. Great effort has gone into giving guests a positive surprise. Every morning, guests are met by a hearty breakfast buffet in a sailing ship setting. The room's columns are masts and the lights are lanterns. Peter Oxhamre's nautical theme recurs throughout the hotel.

The reception, the lobby bar and the computer corner are open at the following hours: Weekdays 06.30 23.00. Weekends and summer period 07.30 - 23.00 unless otherwise indicated. The courtyard at the back of the hotel is open until 22.00 during the summer. The entrance is locked at all other times - your room key also opens the door at the entrance. The night porter vanishes The bleary-eyed night porter is no more! Instead, modern technology and our eagle-eyed security company take care of nighttime service. The technology is only a complement to personal service. Combining the two results in a secure, total solution. In this way, we improve security without compromising service to our guests. Check-in is open up until 23:00. When you ring First Hotell Orebro after 23.00, your call is redirected to Falck Teknik, a security company trained to provide the help you need. They also provide the same service for guests who ring reception after 23.00. Lift and fire alarms, as well as security patrols, are all integral parts of out total security system. Although it is early morning, everything is already shipshape in the hotel's new breakfast room! A fully-equipped restaurant kitchen to look in on! Besides delightful aromas and a sumptuous buffet, our new breakfast room also offers food for the eyes. The cabin is our nickname for this creation of architect Peter Oxhamre. The room's pillars have become mahogany coloured masts and its lights are cosy lanterns. Model ships, wood panelling, brass and, last but not least, the height of the ceiling, feed thoughts of carefree sailing on open waters. Our little cabin on the lower deck seats 40 people and has a fully-equipped restaurant kitchen. A good start to the day for our guests - and ideal for all sorts of other occasions. Drop in and pay us a visit. The cabin opens at 06.30 every weekday, half an hour later at weekends.

The hotel with IT Check in and relax, or connect up and check email? Thanks to our new IT corner in the foyer, you can do both as soon as you walk into First Hotell Orebro. Our IT corner has all you need to step quickly into cyberspace. This service, with its high speed internet connection, is primarily intended for guests who are travelling on business and find they suddenly need a computer. Customers, suppliers and colleagues are only an email away and you have all the internet at your fingertips. Guests with portable computers, modems and mobile internet connections may find it even more convenient to connect up in their rooms. By the end of this spring, we will also have our new switches in place and, from your room, you will be able to connect up via a fixed line. All rooms are ready prepared with internet connection and conveniently located sockets.

Your luggage Although we are in a pedestrian precinct, Hotell Orebro's guests have special permission to drive right up to the hotel's entrance in Storgatan for loading/unloading. Smoke-free rooms For the safety and comfort of guests, smoking is not permitted in Hotell Orebro's bedrooms. All guestrooms and corridors are equipped with smoke and heat detectors. Indoors, smoking is only permitted in the foyer bar on the bottom floor.

The family hotel that made it big Really, it was an impossible project. The hotel was too small and certain resources were lacking. Nobody believed in our renovation project. However, when we were unexpectedly offered the possibility of buying the premises, the finance also fell into place.. Where the property owners saw problems, Jorgen Danbrant and Karin Wallin saw potential. Taking over the hotel freed the resources necessary for making First Hotell Orebro one class bigger and two classes better. To keep tariffs reasonable, it was clear that we had to create a price edge by focusing on the services that were most in demand. Using modern technology allows us to provide the level of service expected by the modern business traveller and still keep prices low.. For example, without compromising service to our guests, the night porter has been replaced by a modern security system. Similarly, the hotel register has given way to Medallion 2000, a computerised booking system from XBO AREMIS. Yet, we haven't become faceless, the personal welcome is still there.. First Hotell Orebro knows what is important. It may be small, but it is big with its guests!
