Manzanillo Mexico Vacation Money Matters. Money exchange rate for the peso is about 10 pesos to the US dollar and quickly becomes easy to convert. For example, an item priced at 40 pesos is about $4 US. Most places will accept dollars, however there is an exchange counter in the Plaza Manzanillo that offers a fair exchange rate. Also, in front of the bank at Plaza Manzanillo there is an ATM machine. Mexico Telephone Accessiblity. Telephones in the rooms connect to the front desk. If you need to make a long distance phone call, the person at the front desk can assist you. The cost of service on long distance is small service charge plus the cost of the long distance call. Movies Filmed in Manzanillo. Many movies have been filmed in Manzanillo, in the early ´80s, Bo Derek and Dudley Moore starred in the famous movie 10 which was filmed at Las Hadas. Other movies filmed in the Manzanillo area include Green Ice, the remake of McHale´s Navy, the made-for-tv miniseries Return to Eden, and I Still Know, (sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer starring Jennifer Love-Hewit. Manzanillo is very safe, with violent crime being virtually non-existent. You can feel safe driving on any road here or walking around town. The weather in Mexico can be very warm in the summer months so each unit has been air conditioned. The evenings are generally mild with warm breezes wafting past your terrace. From November through May there is very little rain. The most participation occurs in September and October. Car rental companies include Avis, National and Budget,however, rentals are quite expensive and taxis relatively cheap, so you might opt for the convenience of just calling for a cab. Manzanillo Mexico Taxis. Taxis can be quickly called from the front desk. If you go to a restaurant for dinner, there are usually taxis waiting outside the restaurant, if not, the restaurant will call one for you. It is approximately $4 to either the Plaza Manzanillo (where the large shopping center Comercial is located) or to Santiago (where the shop Las Primaveras) is located. Manzanillo Mexico Public Transportation. Local bus stops at Paraiso every 20 minutes, beginning (approximately) on the hour. The bus ride costs 4 pesos to the shopping center, Plaza Manzanillo, where there are many shops, including the super market, Comercial.
