Originally California natives, Laura and Robert Dohojda bought the Serendipity Cottage Bed Breakfast in October of 2004. Longing for a significant and meaningful change of lifestyle, together they have breathed new energy into this historic property! Laura and Robert were married right here at Serendipity Cottage in April of 2005. Originally from Poland, Robert immigrated in 1985 and has worked in the corporate/technology world for many years. While Robert continues his career in technology with Symbol Technologies, Inc., (and does all the repairs, building, gardening, etc. in his spare time!), Laura handles the decorating, cooking, cleaning and day-to-day innkeeper operations of Serendipity. Laura comes from a large and adventurous military family, having lived in many parts of the world. In another life, Laura was a Senior Corporate Securities Paralegal in California's Silicon Valley area. Her experiences through the dot.com revolution (while exciting!) are what brought her to this life-changing decision. Both Laura and Robert's corporate experiences benefit the Cottage's corporate clientele. Having traveled across the country and around the world on business, they have experienced the best and the worst accommodations for the business traveler. Drawing on these experiences helps to ensure that the Cottage gives the corporate traveler what they need. When traveling, Robert and Laura appreciate hospitality that is both sophisticated and relaxed, with no pressure, plenty of privacy and a healthy desire to make guests feel welcome and happy! At Serendipity Cottage, that's what you'll get! Whether you are visiting Serendipity Cottage Bed Breakfast for business, a wedding or a romantic getaway, Laura and Robert will cater to all your needs!

Our main dining room is actually a gift shop adorned with some of the most exquisite Polish Pottery you have ever seen! This unique European pottery is classified as stoneware, a very hard product shaped from opaque, white clay of the highest quality. The artisans, located in Boleslawiec, Poland, specialize in the authentic traditionally glazed, hand-painted and sponge-stamped stoneware. Each piece is designed and adorned in adherence to a celebrated heritage. Some of the most famous original designs include those commissioned by renowned Frederick the Great, King of Prussia from 1740-1786! Polish Pottery is oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe because the artists carefully select their clays and bake them at a temperature of 2,246 degrees Fahrenheit. The artisans also coat each piece with a transparent, protective glaze in order to make them chip resistant and easy to clean. The colors used by the artisans are chosen according to Polish custom and include cobalt blues, greens, reddish browns. Polish Pottery does not contain lead. Polish Pottery is both beautiful and versatile and can be used for cooking, serving, dining and decorative art. We encourage our patrons to use their pottery as often as possible rather than keep it in a curio cabinet. Each piece is crafted for both attractiveness and continuous use. And many of our customers buy our pottery for wedding or birthday gifts, not to mention Christmas! So please feel free to come into our Cheese Ladies Polish Pottery shop while visiting Serendipity Cottage. The pottery is absolutely beautiful to look at and never disappoints!
