Once captured by the Romans, later on transformed to a Moorish bastion and finally conquered by the Christians, the city is full of remains of this rich and turbulent history. Ronda, birthplace of the legendary Romero bullfighters family, played a leading part in the development of bullfighting. The bullring, built in 1781, is one of the oldest and most important of Spain and its museum reveals an outstanding collection.
