Programmed activities. Programmed activities Gustavelund's versatile range of programmed activities will ensure that your event is packed with cheerful action. The carefully planned activity packages feature adventure, exercise, new experiences and culture: light-hearted competitions, nature excursions, canoeing, church boat rowing, getting to know Finnish culture and history, paintball
games, completing fun tasks, panning for gold, theme nights, etc. Whether packed with action or filled with ambience, our programmes will turn any
conference trip into a unique experience. They help the participants to feel more relaxed and to get to know each other better, while also building up team spirit. Church boat
trip and hike to Halosenniemi. A church boat
trip to the atelier of Pekka Halonen (1865-1933), one of Finland's foremost painters, provides an unforgettable cultural journey, as well as some light exercise. At the destination the participants can visit the artist's imposing log house located in the wild, view an exhibition of his works and enjoy refreshments. You can take the
trip there and back by boat, or optionally row there by boat and hike back. Those who choose the combination of boating and hiking can further select between a guided cultural hike and a Nordic walk by the shore. The guided cultural hike is led by a professional guide, while the Nordic walk by the shore involves walking with poles, an activity which exercises both the upper and lower parts of the body. If desired, the
trip can also be made by bus. Minimum group size for the combination
trip: 20 persons. Minimum group size for the boat
trip: 10 persons. Duration: 2½ hours. Price: EUR 55/person. Minimum price: EUR 550/boat. If the
trip is taken outside the regular opening hours of the Pekka Halonen atelier, a small additional fee will be charged. Catering is charged separately. Prices include VAT. The serene nature, pleasant lake views, rich glow of the campfire and hot Gluhwein are all integral parts of the Laavu Challenge in a traditional Finnish laavu or forest shelter. A series of light-hearted competitions, in which everyone has a chance to succeed, can be arranged to suit the season. The competitions are followed by a meal enjoyed by the campfire,
drinks suitable for the occasion and capped off perhaps by the magical experience of the
sauna. Duration: 1½ hours. Price: EUR 385/10 persons + EUR 35/each additional person. Special rates apply to groups of more than 50 persons (please ask for a special offer). Catering and
sauna are charged separately. For example, salmon soup or pea soup by the campfire EUR 14/person. Prices include VAT. These are but a few examples of the activities we provide. Illustrious history - splendid surroundings. Not many hotels have such an ideal location as Gustavelund. Only half an hour away from Helsinki - and yet with splendid natural surroundings, on the shores of sparkling Lake Tuusula. Quite close to Gustavelund, you can stroll along the Rantatie lakeside road that has seen many of the great men of Finnish art: author Juhani Aho, painters Pekka Halonen and Eero Jarnefelt, poets Juho Heikki Erkko and Eino Leino, composer Jean Sibelius Today, the road is a heritage site giving access to many historical places, including the cottage where Aleksis Kivi, the first great Finnish-language author, spent his last years; the Lotta Museum Syvaranta and the
studio home of Pekka Halonen. Ainola, the home and museum of Jean Sibelius, is also situated close to Rantatie. Gustavelund itself has an illustrious history. Originally known for its fine stables, it was transformed into a versatile
