Bedrooms Warm, comfortable,
quiet, and clean. The Adam
Room Named in recognition of the original fireplace design, the Adam
Room has comfortable accommodation for up to four people and a cot. A full
family bathroom is shared with The Wallace
Room. Together these
two rooms offer a
family suite with private facilities for up to 9 adults and children with one or two babies sleeping in cots. All
rooms have a
hospitality tray,
alarm clock
radio,
television (some also a
Video) and
ironing facilities. We will happily do a little washing for our guests overnight, whilst guests may use our private
laundry if they want to catch up on the family washing during a holiday. The Wallace
Room This is our largest
room with comfortable accommodation for up to five people or four people and a cot. Named after our greatest Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace (recently immortalized by Mel Gibson in the film 'Braveheart'), the Wallace
Room has views of the mountains and down the river Forth valley towards Stirling, the site of Wallace's greatest tactical victory over the English army of occupation. A full
family bathroom is shared with The Adam
Room. Together these
two rooms offer a
family suite with private facilities for up to 9 adults and children with one or two babies sleeping in cots. Many beautiful details of this magnificent period house have been painstakingly restored in recent years. The Lomond
Suite This
room offers en
suite accommodation for up to four people and has the best mountain views across the River Forth valley and Strathard to the range of hills which extends westwards to Ben Lomond. This dual aspect
room was the master
bedroom of the house when it was built in 1860. With the benefit of the bay window, the
room is very light and airy; the library shelves on the right of the picture are known as a press cupboard - when built, this would have had a door front but the whole thing was ravaged by 'modernisers' in the 20th Century before we discovered the niche in the wall behind a panel and restored it for our guests to use. This, our best
bedroom, has fancy cornice work typical of a mid-19th Century master
room and has the crowning glory of a new £2000 king-size bed acclaimed by guests for delivering the best night's sleep in years. The Vorlich
Suite This
suite offers accommodation for up to four people or three people and a cot, with private facilities. There are mountain views, though the special feature of this
room is the wildlife
garden beneath the window where guests can watch wild birds and squirrels feeding and bathing. The
room is named after Ben Vorlich which we think is one of the most handsome mountains in the world. All the
rooms have individually controlled thermostats, but for cold morsels, guests will find that this is the warmest
room in the whole house. People sometimes ask why we don't offer free child places - the reason is that our
family rooms are designed for families - children are not
squashed in. Children are also welcome at Crannaig House in their own right, not simply as adjuncts to their parents - we provide indoor and outdoor toys and
games, special menu items - we've raised 4 children of our own, so for your children to remember their visit to Scotland, please consider a stay at Crannaig House! The Mackintosh
Suite. The Mackintosh
Suite This
room is designed for Single occupancy and offers luxurious en
suite accommodation with
garden views. The
room is named after Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the famous designer of the early 20th Century whose work is again enjoying public acclaim; see the design detail on the walls and items in the house. With
room for a cot or an extra single bed, this
room is simply perfect for a mother and
baby or child. We do not charge for children under 2 years of age, and give £5 per night discount for children up to age 11 sharing any
room with their parents.
Crannaig House Perfect Hospitality - without costing the earth. Crannaig House was built for the Duke of Montrose circa 1860. Standing in four acres of woodland
gardens, the house is close to the
centre of Aberfoyle village yet quietly
screened and secluded from the noise and traffic of the main street. The house remains a testament to the Grand Victorian Style but now with every modern comfort and convenience the discerning visitor could wish. More than a third of the visitors to Crannaig House make return visits or send their friends - proof beyond question of quality and value-for-money. Gold award-winning Crannaig House has received widespread praise for ecological measures which minimise the impact of modern life and tourism on our special environment. The natural
gardens are always colourful and the lawns to the left of this photograph are for children to run off
steam... there is a child-size goalmouth and a supply of outdoor and indoor toys so our younger guests need not bring their own. Overlooking the play lawn is our picnic and
barbeque area - parents can chillout whilst the children are at play in plain-view. The building on the left is the site of the original stables to the house. We have some of the earliest photographs of the area showing the house without the small pitched section in the middle of the roof; this was added when three extra
rooms were accessed and fitted-out about 100 years ago. Our private car park occupies one corner of the rear
garden and is not visible from the road; inherently secure, the car park is free for guests to use at their own risk. The main poultryhouse is to the left of this photo and the duck-pond to the right.
Baby birds have another house. Secure bicycle storage is available in our
garage,
centre left of this photo. We are cyclist and walker-friendly: super-fast
laundry and drying facilities make our most physically active guests especially welcome. Cool
drinks await your arrival on a hot day. A bed
breakfast establishment for the discerning visitor at the heart of the Lomond The Trossachs National Park.

Coffee/mints; BYO wine etc, a truly fabulous venue for all social occasions. Our rates are reviewed annually during high season and remain at that level for 12 months, but we honour confirmed reservations already in our diary. As a mark of our standard of care and trust, you will not be asked for credit card details, nor do we require a deposit to confirm a reservation; put simply, we trust our guests. Whilst even a verbal reservation is a contract in law and legally enforceable, all we ask is that you are reasonable in your dealings with us so we can continue to be so easy-going for all our guests. Smoking indoors is forbidden by Scottish law. For the good of all, unsociable guests will be asked to leave; unsociable behaviour in our terms specifically includes smoking indoors. Please have insurance - whilst we take great care to ensure our guests'
safety and comfort, our period house is 150 years old and full of original features, antique fittings and
furniture etc - to make it comply with modern
Health and
Safety legislation would destroy it's indisputable character... in this litigant world, it must be contractually accepted that guests use all facilities entirely at their own risk. *All prices are per person per night (pppn) and include our fabulous
breakfast; be welcome as family guests, not simply customers. Prices per person are lowest when you fully occupy
family rooms; double or twin occupancy of a
family room for three people actually saves £25 per night on the
room rate! Tell us what would really make your visit stand out in your memory (we aim to please and we will if we can!).
Ground Floor
Suite We cater for the less-abled. The Cheshire
suite is named after the famous RAF officer Leonard Cheshire who worked tirelessly for the disabled; perfect for two wheelchair users and a carer desiring comfort and tranquillity, the Cheshire
suite is also ideal for up to 4 able bodied guests, all in single beds. Located on the ground floor and close to our level carpark entrance (with an allocated
parking space), this
room is designed for accompanied wheelchair access but has facilities for a wide range of guests with special needs. The window looks onto our wildlife
gardens where countless varieties of birds and our neighbourhood squirrels come to feed and bathe. Little details make a special difference - the
television is large for folk with poor sight and the easy chairs of a design to suit less-mobile people; things like the dehumidifier and the touch-operated lamps were included after interactive research with wheelchair users who arrived as first-time guests but are now regular visitors and special friends. Guests with special needs are provided with an emergency
radio button with which to summon help if their carer is out of the
room. The WHEELCHAIR-ACCESS
EN SUITE BATHROOM was designed and built with reference to the needs of access challenged people and guests convalescing following illness; see the
shower seat, the wheelchair access basin and
transfer rails for the
toilet. Able bodied guests are not forgotten though - the floor in this picture has under floor
heating. Indeed, the
heating of the whole
suite is zoned such that a carer can be at a different temperature to that for mobility challenged guests. Tourists in the Central Scotland area or visiting the Lomond The Trossachs National Park will be delighted to have been guests at our BB Our Ground Floor
Suite is specially equipped for the infirm or disabled. We can provide
