Willy Wallace is 2 minutes walk from Stirling's train and bus stations. Stirling is easily reached by train bus or car. On 11th Sept 1297 William Wallace and the Earl of Murray steered the Scottish army to a victory at Stirling Bridge that would inspire future generations. 24th June 1314 Robert the Bruce's superior tactical abilities lead an outnumbered Scottish army to its decisive victory over English forces at Bannockburn. Landmarks in Stirling include Stirling Castle, arguably Scotland's finest castle. The Wallace Monument, raised to commemorate the life of Scotland's most famous hero and Cambuskenneth Abbey, the oldest building in the area situated in beautiful surroundings. Others include - the Smith Art Gallery and museum, Cowanes Hospital, and the Old Town Jail. Shopping, Nightlife and Other Activities. Stirling has a large covered shopping centre, and supermarket close to the hostel. There is a well known night-club nearby and numerous pubs, restaurants and takeaways with a minute's walk. For a change of activity there is also a cinema, bowling alley, swimming pool, golf, walking, white water rafting etc. Scotland first National Park at Loch Lomond and The Trossachs is easily reached from the centre of Stirling for walking, cycling, boating and water sports.
