It is our intention to be as welcoming as possible to all, within the limitations of a 17th century building located on a fairly steep slope. Our staff are keen to assist all our guests, to help ensure a pleasant and relaxed visit. We have a long term plan to improve access to the building. Entry is via steps at the front of the building on the old Market Square, for which removable ramps are available; there is an entry
phone to request assistance on arrival. This grants access to reception,
bar,
restaurant and residents
lounge. There is also access from the private car park at the rear of the hotel.. Ramps are available for the internal steps to gain access to reception,
bar, residents
lounge and
restaurant. There is level access from the car park to the upper part of the split level function
room. All our
bedrooms are on 1st or 2nd floor and it is not possible to install a lift or stair lift. Some
rooms are available accessed by a staircase that has a place for a chair that is available to rest. Both staircases have handrails. Our
rooms have a mix of
baths and
showers please ask when booking to suit your requirements. Our public
toilet doors are not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Our main
bar and
restaurant menus are available in braille and large type. The
swimming pool has a ladder type entry but the
sauna has level entry. 18 of our
20 bedrooms are designated
non-smoking. All of the indoor public areas are now designated
non-smoking by law. There are outdoor smoking areas at the front and rear of the hotel. We permit pets in
guest bedrooms by prior arrangement. This is free of charge but we reserve the right to decline. Animals are not permitted in
rooms where people are or may be eating. There are no restrictions on guide dogs, hearing dogs or registered assistance dogs, which we will endeavour to make as welcome as possible.
