Beauty
Farm... Some years ago a family arrived to recreate the charms of yesterday and to add those of modern times. Here,
garden, blossoming fruit trees. There,
terraces with the scent of the sea. Further beyond, a secret hideaway, the
Beauty Farm, a place to set the mind free... Yesterdays Farm Todays inn... A stunning home offer relished in times past and in passing time...
The principle: draw on all sources of energy. In practice, rally the elements: water, light, stone. Stimulate the senses: smell, taste, feeling. The inspiration gives way to a full line of treatments, such as... Reflexology, Wraps, energising treatments based on the power of algae, clays, oils and herbs. In addition to other therapies, such as
massages...
Massages with Etretat pebbles, volcanic rock and even precious stones under a tent.
This farm has never been like any other. Time has been witness to guests that have given the place its exceptional destiny. Oh Saint Simeon!... exclaims Eugene Boudin in his notes (1896)... There was a fine legend to write about this inn! Fine legend indeed... Between 1825 and 1865, Ferme Saint-Simeon, then called Mother Toutains Inn, was the favoured retreat of the artists that gave rise to the Honfleur School and who were at the origin of Impressionism. Among them were Courbet, Bazille, Monet and the poet Charles Baudelaire, all spellbound by the light of the estuary! And today, the sky, light, inn and poetry live on. The stunning farm, now a Relais et Chateaux member, perpetuates this secret alchemy and captivating mixture.
In the 19th c., the ever-changing landscapes of the Estuary inspired painters. This is a land where constantly moving skies put on a veritable light show. Ferme Saint-Simeon literally basks in this atmosphere of indefinable charm. A cluster of clouds, passing time, pictures that form, break up and start again! Water and skies. The wonderment and elegance of the unpredictable.
