In the twenties, during the Spanish Belle Epoque, a railway line, which would united Arcos de la Frontera with Malaga, was begun. Although no trains ever used the line, varios stations, bridges and tunels were built. Recently this railway line has been partially reclaimed and is now known as the green line, a scenic route of approximately 50 kilometres, ideal for walking, cycling or horse riding.
