Within minutes from our front door are some of Idaho finest golf courses. *Jefferson Hills - Rigby Idaho.;This beautiful 18 hole course is only about 5 minutes from the Blacksmith Inn and is located among mature trees, rivers, and lakes making this a very fun and challenging course for all levels of play. It is a privately owned course, open to the public. They accept reservation a week in advance. They offer a small practice area, carts, golf shop, snack bar and lounge. Jefferson Hills is located half way between in Rigby and is easily accessible from Highway 20. It is a mature 18 hole course with the dry bed of the Snake River running through the course. Yardage from the white tees is 5884 and is rated at 66.7. From the red tees the yardage is 5032 and rated at 66.4. Mature trees, large greens, lakes, and streams make this course beautiful and challenging. We offer a discount golf package with Jefferson Hills. Pinecrest - Idaho Falls. This traditional course features tree-lined fairways and a canal coming into play on a few holes. The greens are small and slightly sloped, plus some sand bunkers protect the fairways and greens. Golf Digest rated this course 4th Best Public Course in the state for 1996. The ladies' par is actually 77. Classification Public. Dress Code Shirt and Shoes required NO METAL SPIKES ALLOWED. Sandcreek Golf Course- Idaho Falls. Comments Sandcreek is an 18 hole, bent greens course. It was built in 1978 and designed by William P. Bell and Sons. Sandcreek is truly a championship golf course. Mr. William Bengevfield, Western Director of the Usage's Green Section, stated, the rolling sand dunes, the abundance of water, the excellent soils and the proximity to town and tourists alike, make Sandcreek one of the potentially great golf courses in the west. The addition of a 5-hole short course adjacent to the regulation course attracts hundred of junior and adults each season. Sage Lakes- Idaho Falls. Sage Lakes is an 18 hole, bent greens golf course. It was built in 1992. William Howard Neff designed the course. Several water hazards dot the course. The course includes multiple tee boxes which varies the yardage from 5000 to 6800 yards. The greens are moderately contoured and medium in size. Sage Lakes is a Championship golf course which is a test for the scratch golfer and fair to avid and beginning golfers. Snowmobile in our back yard with fewer restrictions, ride in the shadow of the majestic Tetons Mountains, or play in the hills and meadows within an hour’s drive of our front door. Ashton, Idaho Area Snowmobile Trails - Trail Information: 400 miles, groomed. Elevation: 5250-7000. With a view of the majestic Teton Mountains, groomed trails from Ashton provide routes to the popular Mesa Falls area, Yellowstone's Cave Falls and Grand Teton National Park. The area has wide open powder riding across rolling hills and 400 miles of groomed trails on private and public land through the Targhee National Forest. Trails from Mesa Falls lead north to Island Park and Yellowstone National Park. A 45 mph speed limit on groomed trails is enforced. Snowmobile rentals are available. Bone, Idaho Snowmobile Trails - Prime Season December - April. Trail Information: Popular trails are Wolverine, Long Valley, Brockman and Skyline Ridge. Byways also connect to Fall Creek and Alpine, WY. This area accesses groomed trails in several eastern Idaho counties, as well as trails in western Wyoming. Base Elevation: 5000. This is a network of 200 miles of trails in the mountains 25 miles east of Idaho Falls. The trails lead to plenty of play areas perfect for hillclimbing and busting powder. The average elevation is 6,500 feet and the prime season is January to March. Bannock County, southeast of Pocatello, grooms another 200 miles of trails that lead from Mink Creek to the high play areas around Scout Mountain, and from the Inkom Canyon parking lot east of Inkom to the beautiful Pebble Basin area. Canyon Rim (Mesa Falls) Snowmobile Trail - Prime Season Winter. This is an Idaho Park 'N Ski area requiring a pass to park here. It is located 7 miles northeast of Ashton on Highway 47 and parallels the Nordic ski trail out to the spectacular Lower and Upper Mesa Falls. It then branches away from the Nordic trail, traveling along the canyon rim then returning to the trailhead. Directions to Trailhead: From BlackSmith Inn, drive 35 miles NE to Ashton on Hwy. 20, then 7 miles NE. Idaho Falls, Idaho Area Snowmobile Trails - Prime Season:January-March. A network of 400 miles of groomed trails leads you to some of the world's finest snowmobiling playgrounds. This trail system also connects with the Bear Lake, Franklin and Caribou snowmobile trail systems. Majestic mountains, beautiful timbered areas and open flats make this region one of the finest. Popular trails are Brockman-Skyline, Bone-Alpine and Wolverine-King Canyon. These wide groomed trails lead to great playgrounds. Three warming huts along the trail system add comfort and safety. Rexburg-Driggs, Idaho Area Snowmobile Trails - Prime Season: December - April. Madison, Jefferson and Teton counties offer 280 miles of groomed trails and tens of thousands of acres of off-trail riding. Riders can sled between the communities of Rexburg, Tetonia, and Driggs. Popular trails start in the west on Lyons Creek, Burn Siding and lead to Red Butte via 218 with a snowmobile slide that drops into 1,000 Springs Valley. Travel on to Green Canyon Hot Springs for lunch, gas or a soak in the pool or hot tub. Island Park, Idaho Area Snowmobile Trails - Big Springs - More than 300 miles of groomed trails set a course for snowmobilers of all abilities to tour spectacular mountain terrain. Warming huts provide winter enthusiasts with a cozy place to rest and plenty of parking is available for all to enjoy this scenic area. Black Canyon Loop - This trail above Island Park takes you from Big Springs right up to the border of Yellowstone National Park and the Montana border. Open Thanksgiving Day to June 1. Island Park Area -Just west of Yellowstone National Park are the world famous loop trails of the Island Park area. Forested trails connect with the West Yellowstone trail systems. They provide access to mountains more than 8,000-feet high. Renowned Two Top Mountain is here with select hillclimbing and powder bowls.
