There is a separate comfortable residents lounge with digital television, CD, radio, books and games. Breakfast and dinner is taken in the dining room which has lovely views of the paddocks and sun room. Bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, digital TV, hair dryers and alarm radios. Set in Beautiful Countryside. If you like the beauty and wildlife of the Scottish Borders and enjoy being in the countryside Fernyrig is the place for you. The House is set in a farm steading with pleasant gardens and paddocks. It is no longer a working farm but the family have a horse and a cat and a dog. There is ample parking space for cars. Anne and Kevin Mills enjoy hill-walking, horse riding and golf. They will be pleased to point you in the right direction if you are interested in participating in these or other activities available locally. Fernyrig has been extensively updated to make a warm and comfortable home with great character. There is a farm steading which offers secure storage for bikes, trailers etc., The house is surrounded by woodland and farmland and is regularly visited by deer, hares, buzzards, owls and countless other small birds. Beautiful gardens feature lawns, old English roses and mixed perennial borders. There are garden seats and tables which provide a quiet place for sitting and relaxation. Numerous options for walking are available locally and you can enjoy the River tweed which is only a mile away. We have our own free-range hens and produce fruit and vegetables from our own garden which are used in our catering, when in season. Fernyrig is no longer a working farm but we have paddocks and keep a horse, dog, cat and pet guinea fowl

Fernyrig Farm, Birgham, Coldstream, Berwickshire TD12 4NB. N 55.66024 W 2.33788. Take the A698 and proceed through Birgham village. About 300 metres after leaving the 30 mph limit take the first turn left on the sharp bend (before the turn signposted Haigsfield ). Fernyrig is about 3/4 mile further on the right hand side at the bottom of the hill. Take the A 697 towards Edinburgh. After about 1 mile turn left onto the A698 signposted Kelso. Continue for about 1 1/2 miles. Take the second road on the right almost immediately after the road signposted Haigsfield. Fernyrig is about 3/4 mile on the right hand side. Take the A68 Southwards and then the A 697 left after crossing Soutra. proceed through Greenlaw and for about a further 6 miles before turning right onto the B6461 signposted Kelso. Drive into Eccles village and turn left just past the village hall (retired church) towards Birgham. Drive for about 1 mile and take the first left road at Eccles Newton (follow tweed cycle route). Fernyrig is about 1/2 mile on the left hand side at the bottom of the hill.
