Packages: all package offers have to be paid by cash or by EC- card (valid only A, Germany and Netherland EC cards), we do not accept credit cards. Recreation area: Sauna and vapour bath are available to our hotel and chalet guests free of charge. 10 minutes in our solarium will cost you € 7. Massage: By appointment our masseur offers various sports massages. Internet access: Against payment we offer you Internet access in our hotel. Games and fun: In our hotel you can play table tennis, table football and computer games free of charge. The first days of skiing in our region go back to the beginning of the 20th century - the first skiing lessons were given in Zurs as early as 1906. The two founders of the Ski School Lech, Ludwig Schneider and Engelbert Jochum, worked as hotel ski instructors for the first few years. Then they established the school in the winter of 1925/26. In those days pole swings and stem turns were mainly taught and the practice slopes were almost all situated on the Omesberg. In 1939 there were already 25 instructors at the Ski School Lech teaching the Arlberg method which in the meantime had become well known. Lessons were given in squat position, stem turns and Christiania; and first plans were made for the building of a skilift. Between 1968 and 1988 the school was most effectively directed by Elmar Walch and continuously adapted to changing requirements. Opening up of the region with more lifts and cable cars means ever-widening possibilities. Since 1988 Stefan Schneider has been head of the school and responsible for its development. The school has grown continuously to keep pace with the development of tourism, currently employing up to 250 state-approved male and female instructors. This means that the Ski School Lech is one of the biggest and most important in Austria. Safety has always been a primary concern at the school and will continue to play a foremost role in the future. Many members of the Lech Ski School are in the Avalanche Commission and are active in the area of avalanche safety, where they contribute the knowledge gained from many years of practical experience. From the beginning, the Lech Ski School has been one of the most important institutions within the infrastructure of the celebrated ski resort of Lech and still today plays a vital role within winter sports holidays. The Ski School Lech has not only kept pace with the development of tourism, but has also played a defining role in its success.
