Caravanning/Camping at The Barn. We have a newly extended camping area for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Extra 'hook ups' are installed and a kitchen area is provided for campers use. The utility room is available for campers as well as people staying in the hostel. The campsite has a common room with kitchen facilities and a games area with a pool table and a removable table tennis top. The kitchen is equipped with two cookers (one electric and one gas), a microwave and a fridge freezer. Campers Laundry/Shower. There is a laundry with an automatic washer (£1.00 metered), two large sinks, and an iron and ironing board. The shower is in the style of a wet room providing plenty of room for a relaxing shower. There is also a heated drying room for drying clothes on when the weather doesn't allow natural drying.

The Hostel has 5 bedrooms and a shared lounge and kitchen all finished to a very high standard. The Campsite has plenty room for tents, caravans, and motorhomes with electric hook ups for those requiring them. There is a campers kitchen and games room. There is a laundry with an automatic washer, iron and ironing board and a drying room. The Barn was opened in May 2000 and provides high quality hostel accommodation with excellent self-catering and lounge facilities. Camping and Caravan facilities are also available. It is situated centrally in the village of Pierowall, Westray in the Orkney Isles and is within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance of shops, post office and other local amenities. The Barn is open all year round, has disabled facilities and the service includes duvet, sheets, towels, heating, showers, tea, coffee and all cooking facilities. On the upper floor there is one bedroom (the family room) and a very large lounge. The lounge window looks out over Pierowall Bay. In midsummer when the sun hardly sets, the reflection on the sea is breathtaking. On the ground floor are the other four bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, shower rooms, utility and drying room.
