The Barakuda Diving Center Lotus Bay is situated in the heart of Lotus Bay Beach Resort Gardens. Since April 1998 the Barakuda Diving Center is under the management of Mahmoud Abd El Hady. With his multinational team of experienced instructors and guides, Mahmoud makes every effort possible to make your holidays most enjoyable. We provide diving courses in several languages, such as English, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Arabic according to the standards of PADI, SSI, CMAS and TDI. We have six comfortable diving boats which will be at your service, all providing a spacious diving deck and platform, salon, sundeck, salon and toilet. Our boats leave every morning at 08.30 a.m. from our private marina located directly in front of the diving center. After each dive you will be offered a glass of tea and between the two dives the boat crew serves a delicious fresh lunch. Cold beverages are available at any time. Between 03.00 and 05.00 p.m. the boats come back to the marina. Early enough for a get-together at the bar in front of the diving center before you get ready for dinner. Therefore all our boats are equipped with full oxygen kits, first aid kits and VHF radio so we can contact other boats, diving centers or medical assistance within short time. Lotus Bay Resort is situated on the Red Sea in the heart of the northern Bay of Safaga, with its warm, crystal-clear waters, untouched enclosing islands and spectacular coral reefs. The variety of the Safaga dive spots is so immense, that you can easily spend 10 days diving without going to the same spot twice if the weather allows. Directly enfolded on the water front, the resort is naturally endowed with a soft sandy beach along with a beautifully preserved coral garden sloping into the water gradually from the shore. Safaga Safaga is located 60 kilometers south of Hurghada and has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. The former fishing village has preserved a lot of its authenticity. The Red Sea The Red Sea is the only enclosed coral sea in the world, is a distinctive and unique tropical sea - an unparalleled source of entertainment and beauty. Running as a narrow strip between Africa and Arabia for 1500 miles, the Red Sea joins at its southern tip the Indian Ocean through the Strait of Bab-El-Mandab, while at its northern head it branches into the twin gulfs of Suez and Aqaba. Unlike the arid lands of desert and semi-desert on either side, the Red Sea is framed with thousands of untouched coral reefs, oases of teeming under-water life basking into its shallow waters. The Red Sea is characterized by its high salinity - a consequence both of the hot climate and the absence of any river adding fresh water to the sea. The surface sea temperature ranges, according to the time of the year, from approximately 20 to 26 degrees Celsius in the northern part, and from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius in the central and southern parts.Clear skies, strong sunlight and the absence of inflowing sediments contribute to excellent underwater visibility, leading to the Red Sea waters being among the clearest waters in the world.
