The builing was constructed as luxary appartments at the end of the 19th centurty. During the 1930's the building was renovated and refurbished into a hotel with the bathrooms located in the corridors. During the 1980's the Hotel changed hands and total renovations were carried out, with all the rooms converted to include en suite bathrooms, the reception/bar area was moved to its current position and the consevatory was built. In 1995 the World Athletic Championships were held in Gothenburg and the Hotel was given an alchohol license. The Hotel is regulary refurbished to keep it modern and fresh and to include all the facitities requred in a hotel.
Hotel Onyxen is convenient however you come to Gothenburg:; If by car, take the Mssan/Scandinavium/Liseberg exit from E6 and turn right at the Korsvgen roundabout.; If by plane, take the airportbus from either Landvetter Airport to the Korsvgen stop or from Gothenburg City Airport to CentralStation and then and then change to the no. 2 tram to Scandinavium.; If by train, take the no. 2 tram from Centralstation or to Scandinavium (two stops away).; If by ferry, take no. 3 or 9 tram from the ferry terminals to Centralstation and then change to the no. 2 tram to Scandinavium. Our relaxing Bar stocks premium products including an extensive range of bottled beers, cocktails galore and exclusive wines and several brands of Whisky. The Bar is open from 12.00 to 01.00 every day. From Monday to Thursday during the winter months (September - May) we serve homemade soup plus extras. This is included in the room price.
We have our own Secure Parking available for 120 SEK per day, however space is limited so we do not prebook the places. However, there are a number of Parking areas in the vacinity all within a short walking distance.
Between Monday and Friday you can leave your clothes for Dry Cleaning. Swedish morning papers are found in the dining room. We can take up to 14 persons in a U-shape configuration. half day: 8.00 13.00 price 1250;- incl. tax whole day: 8.00 23.00 price 2500;- incl. tax.
