Many areas in Dominica provide wonderful organic produce. A
garden to Dominicans is a place where food, rather than flowers are grown. Dominica exports certain foods to other islands We try to create simple meals using the freshest food we can supply. Fish from the neighbouring fishing village of Fond St. Jean, island raised chicken, locally grown vegetables, herbs and fruits, as well as imported foods are combined for a universal appeal. We have a small private dining area that serves our registered guests. For your dining experience, we procure the most varied, best and freshest local produce we can find. Our

Breakfast - from continental to full
breakfast, we try to offer you what you might have at home plus a daily bounty of fresh, local fruit.
Lunch we can furnish a packed hiking
lunch. Please order the night before.
Dinner we serve a set menu for
dinner each evening. Usually three and sometimes four courses all freshly prepared and cooked at Zandoli with a simplistic flare. Enjoy a visit to our
kitchen. We ask you to let us know by noon if you will be joining us for
dinner at 7:00 pm. Tiny

We promise great mattresses, star-filled heavens and the occasional rain
shower. The sound of the sea is always with you at Zandoli. All
five rooms are generous with exquisite sea views,
balconies, fully opening wooden jalousie windows, and
private bathrooms with solar hot-water
showers.
Rooms are equipped with fans and mosquito nets, but no
television,
radios or
phones. Please bring your ear
phones for any noise making device you use. We have
laundry service and
hair dryers are available.
The red-roofed inn, of Caribbean/Mediterranean style, is simply but exquisitely designed and considered by many to be an architectural gem. There are five spacious
guest rooms with private
baths,
balconies and views of the sea and forest. Resident guests are assured of personal and attentive service from our helpful staff. The grounds, tiny

patio comprise the shared space at Zandoli. Most guests enjoy these areas to the fullest. A book table features books and information about Dominica and things tropical. The take-a-book-leave-a-book library has scrabble, and other board
games. Outdoors you can easily spend a relaxing day without leaving the grounds. Relax by the plunge
pool take a day off from adventures to relax or finish that book at this very special spot. Walk the trails that traverse our six acre property. Take a rest on one the benches scattered throughout. There are many photo opportunities and perhaps youll spot a hummingbird nest. Find the young date palms, listen for the bamboo squeak and inspect the vanilla vine, nutmeg and avocado trees among many other trees and plants. Go down several sets of stairs to enjoy the amazing boulder shoreline the perfect meditation spot for some, for others an exploring adventure. Some guests spend the day here. For those who are agile and adventuresome, an ocean snorkel awaits. Do bring your gear.
Things to Do Nearby. Nearby walks: Stroll to the nearby fishing village of Fond St. Jean, or through Bagatelle village and have a Kubuli beer or soft
drink by the fishing boats or at the Cool River
Shop and
Bar. Walk up to Morne Pei and check out the fabulous view. Walk over to the Geneva playing field; check out the soap factory and the rasta carvings. Take a more distant walk to the imaginatively painted Catholic Church overlooking Grand Bay. Inspect the very old bell tower and the sinners cemetery. When guides can be located, the three small waterfalls at Dubique are an amazing short
trip into the rainforest. Sure-footed climbing involved. For the truly enthusiastic walker/hiker there are two all day walking /hiking experiences that start right at Zandoli: Walk across the bay to the village of Grand Bay, continue up the mountains to the village of Tete Morne and then take the trail down to Soufriere and Scotts Head. Stop along the way for a relaxing
bath in the Sulphur Springs. You could take local buses back. With a guide you can hike the Perdu Temps trail. This is part of an old mountain trail used before there were roads for people to get from the eastern side of the island to the western side of the island. Farther off - for the very fit, an early
breakfast and off to the all day Boiling Lake hike. Be prepared for lots of ups and downs with many stairs!

Zandoli (the name for a small indigenous lizard) is located at Stowe, near the fishing village of Fond St. Jean on the southeast coast of Dominica. It is 13 miles (a 25 minute drive) from the capital, Roseau. Dominica is the most mountainous and rugged island of the Lesser Antilles chain. Situated mid way between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, Dominica ( pronounced “Dom-eh-knee-ka”. ) is not to be confused with the Dominican Republic! Adventure awaits you on Dominica. The most mountainous and rugged of the Caribbean islands, Dominica is situated midway between Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Lesser Antilles.
