A stay in a Canon Court serviced apartment offers you so much more than a small hotel bedroom Canonmills has a range of shopping including a Post Office, supermarket, newsagent, wine merchant, hair dressing salons and antique shop. Not to mention 2 excellent cafe/bistros and many restaurants (see section). Immediately around Canon Court are three restaurants offering Chinese, Indian and Italian menus, as well as a full menu available at the Oak pub. There are also carry-out meals available within a couple of minutes walk including Fish and Chips, Chinese and Indian menus. There are 4 pubs very close by also. Several frequent bus routes stop in front of Canon Court, or opposite at the foot of Brandon Terrace for access to the City Centre. Directions to some of the main shops or facilities are as follows: Tesco Supermarket Broughton Street Left of Canon Court, left at traffic lights. Newsagent Howard Street Right of Canon Court, on opposite side of road. Launderette Brandon Terrace Right of Canon Court, on corner directly opposite. ESSO 24 hour market Canonmills Directly in front of Canon Court, on opposite side. Other shops locally are generally open six days a week, and are all located within just a few minutes walk from Canon Court. The Post Office is located in Brandon Terrace, on the opposite side of the road, and is open six days a week. Please note that Wednesday is early closing at 13:00 p.m. A cash dispenser machines is located in the forecourt of the 24hr garage opposite, as well as Tesco supermarket and at the foot of Brandon Terrace at the bottom of Dundas Street. The nearest banking facilities are in the city centre for bureau de exchange, deposit pay-in and other inquiries. Parking Canon court apartments offer secure on-site parking to all guests. Located to the rear of our main building, parking is complimentary an accessible off Warriston Road. Each apartment is provided with: A separate, fully fitted and equipped kitchen with washing machine and microwave. Welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, sugar and washing up liquid. Cable television (Sky sports). CD/tape/radio hi-fi system. Electric central heating. Double glazed windows. Digital direct dial telephone (calls charged separately). Iron and ironing board. Electric shaver points. Baby equipment including toys, high chairs and infant beds for children. Full size bathroom with bath and shower. Once-weekly maid service. Towels are changed twice a week. A supplement of £10 is levied if the sofa bed is used for an adult guest. Canon Court provides the following amenities for all guests: Free on-site parking. DVD players available on request from reception. Reception. Open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and 8.30 am to 2.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. We, of course, welcome guests arriving outside these hours, but please let us know in advance. Security entry phone and CCTV. Laundry and dry cleaning services can be arranged. Poker Table-Top Cards. Due to the huge popularity of poker in recent years (and requests from guests), we now provide packs of cards and a professional poker tabletop that can seat up to 6 people for use by our guests. Great for the budding poker player to show off his or hers skills during a poker night! This is offered on a first come first serve basis and unfortunately cannot be reserved before arrival. For online bookings, the full amount is payable in advance using the secure, online payment system. 2. For bookings direct with Canon Court Apartments only: a. Bookings of 3 nights and under or within 28 days prior to arrival must be paid in full at the time of making the reservation. b. For bookings of more than 3 nights and more than 28 prior to arrival, a deposit of 25% of the total cost of the booking is required at the time of making the reservation with full payment due on or before 28 days prior to arrival. Written confirmation of your booking will be provided with a reminder of when the balance payment is due. 3. Please note during peak times, during August and other public holidays, sporting and other major events there is a minimum length of stay and full pre-payment will be required. This will be clearly indicated when you book. 4. Prices are shown are in £ sterling and include VAT at 17.5%. All heating and hot water costs, linen, and towels, regular servicing, cable TV and on site car parking are included. Incidentals such as telephone charges are not included. Prices are subject to change without notice. Once your booking is confirmed there will be no change in that rate. 5. Cots, highchairs and linens are provided free for children under 15 years old. Sofa beds are provided in selected apartments. One bedroom apartments are for occupation by 2 adults and 2 children under 15. Two bedroom apartments are occupation by 4 adults and 2 children under 15. A supplement is charged for an additional adult at £10 per night. 6. Telephone calls which are logged and due on departure. Standard rate of 0.16p* per pulse. Please note a pulse is not measured as a 1 minute and varies during off and peak times. 7. All major credit cards are accepted (Visa, Amex, MasterCard, Switch, Diners). For security reasons, we do not provide credit card receipts by post. Receipts are available on arrival or departure. All monies paid to us must be clear of all bank charges and exchange rate variations. Cheques can be made for UK Sterling and should be made out to Canon Apartments Ltd and sent to: Canon Court Apartments, 20 Canonmills, Edinburgh EH3 5LH, Scotland. Please allow at least 14 days for cheque payments to arrive and be processed. 8. On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for Canon Court to take an imprint. For the avoidance of doubt, the price of your stay in the apartment does not include any incidental charges, which you may incur during your stay (such as the cost of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Canon Apartments Ltd. that you irrevocably authorise Canon Court Apartments to debit your credit or debit card for the amount of any shortfall. 9. If any fees are not received, your booking may be cancelled by Canon Apartments Ltd and any payments already made, will be forfeited. 10. All additional charges must be settled by the guest, prior to vacating the premises. In the event that the reservation is for seven or more days, settlement of the account will be required on every seventh day of the stay starting from the date of arrival. 11. Credit accounts are available for corporate clients. Please contact Canon Court for more information. The above terms are not applicable to companies with corporate accounts based on a credit agreement. 12. Once a booking has been accepted by Canon Court Apartments, a contract exists between client and company. Accepting a reservation with Canon Apartments Ltd indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions. 13. Canon Court Apartments shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events. 14. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability in any manner which would be unlawful. 15. Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained online, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured online at any time. Amendments to Bookings If you wish to alter your booking (e.g. change the dates of your stay or the accommodation requested), we do our best to comply with your request. However we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so and we accept no liability for any loss, damage or additional expense that may be incurred. We will always endeavour to resell any apartments you no longer require. In circumstances where the apartments cannot be sold, our cancellation policy will apply. Corporate bookings We provide a separate contract for Corporate Clients. Please contact Canon Court direct to set up this contract. Cancellations Our cancellation terms are as follows: 1. 7 Days prior to arrival The full amount will be refunded. This excludes Hogmanay, Bank Holidays and Rugby Weekends when a minimum of 28 days notice is required. This will be clearly indicated when you book. 2. Less than 7 days and more than 24 hours prior to arrival Full amount will be retained unless the Company is able to re-sell the cancelled apartments. 3. Less than 24hrs No refunds. 4. No shows For clients failing to arrive for a booking, the full cost of one night;s accommodation will be charged to their credit or debit card. 5. Cancellations must be made in writing either by post (address above) or by e-mail (cancellations@canoncourt.co.uk). Cancellation of a reservation is only be effective once we have received and acknowledged confirmation of receipt 6. Cancellations may attract an administration fee. Depending on the reasons for your cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these cancellation charges from your insurance company, if you have taken out travel insurance. We strongly recommend that all clients obtain appropriate travel and personal insurance cover. Cancellations by Canon Court In exceptional circumstances we may find it necessary to cancel your booking and if so, we shall make all reasonable efforts to offer a suitable alternative. If this is not acceptable we will refund any sum you have paid to us which shall constitute full and final settlement of any liability we may have to you as a result of such cancellation. Canon Court will have no further liability to the Client. We will not be liable for any delay, loss, damage or expenses incurred if your booking needs to be altered or cancelled or we are unable to perform our contractual obligations as a result of events beyond our reasonable control, which shall include but not be limited to events such as war, civil strife, terrorist activity, labour disputes, natural or man-made disaster, fire, flood, and adverse weather conditions.
