May 2008 Company of the year survey 2008: Fosshotels in 5th place. Fosshotel just received the recognition to be among the Companies of the year 2008 in a survey done by the The Icelandic trade union, the third year in a row. This year Fosshotel were in the 5th place, in the year 2007 in the 10th place and the year 2006 in the 15th place. The French baron named C.Gouldree-Boilleau moved to Reykjavik in the year 1898 and founded the first dairy farm in Iceland that had the main purpose to sell milk. He became a pioneer in that field. His farm was called The Baron-dairy farm and both Baronsstigur, the street, and Fosshotel Baron are named after the French baron.
