Two of the Rooms can be joined to make a two-bedroom suite for large families. All Rooms have private baths. Two of the Rooms are named for early Blue Hill ships. Rates vary with time of year, and by Room, as they are all unique. Rates for two, range from $ 125 $175, and include a Full Breakfast, with a Deluxe Breakfast Buffet. The graceful bedroom of Captain Isaac Merrill, on the 2nd floor, overlooks the village. Original, wide pumpkin-pine floor boards, reveal the hand made nails of long ago. The Four Poster, queen-size bed is adorned with a delicate macram canopy. The fireplace remains unchanged from when it was built in 1828, working now with gas logs. Large windows built by ships carpenters surround the room, giving it the feel of the masters cabin in a grand sailing ship. To maintain the integrity of the room, a water closet contains small sink toilet, with the tub/shower is in the bedroom, beside the fireplace, hung with curtains, giving the experience of living in an 1800s house. (Also in the room: writing desk, settee, and satellite TV). June 15th - October 20th. Single occupancy $125.00. Double occupancy $175.00. October 21st - June 14th. Single occupancy $95. Named after one of Captain Merrills Ships, this simply elegant room, on the 2nd floor at the front of the house, has original, pumpkin-pine floor boards, the original 1828 fireplace, (now with gas logs), a Four Poster, queen-size bed, and a well-appointed private bath, with large sink and shower. (Also in the room: writing desk, couch, satellite TV). The Parlor is the only room on the first floor, at the front of the house; the official receiving room for guests in 1828. It has four large windows looking over the village, and delightful, original 1828 fireplace, (now with gas logs). Four Poster, queen-sized bed, with a single sleeper couch, can sleep 3. The Mountain View Room is fully booked this Summer, Please Select another room. Peeking at Blue Hill Mountain, this room has a private entrance at the back of the house. Windows overlook the courtyard. There is a Four Poster Queen sized bed, fireplace and a private bath. Double occupancy $145.00. A Jewel of a little room overlooking the courtyard at the back of the house. Named for the 1st three- masted schooner to be built in America, in Blue Hill, by the Father in law of Captain Merrill... Cancellation Policy-Deposits. To confirm your reservation, a deposit of one night's stay is required in advance. For longer stays, a 50% deposit is accepted at the time of booking. This is accomplished by calling us with your credit card number, or by sending us a check. If you must cancel or shorten your reservation, and can do so a full two weeks before your arrival date, we will gladly refund your deposit. (Deposits for reservations canceled less than 14 days prior to arrival, are refundable only if your room can be re-rented.). If you must depart earlier than expected, we must still charge for all the night's reserved. If cancellation becomes necessary on your day of arrival, no deposit will be able to be refunded. Cancellations are refunded the 3rd week of September. All cancellations are subject to a $25 bookkeeping fee. For the comfort and safety of our guests, all rooms are non-smoking. To retain the peaceful atmosphere of the 1800's there are no phones in the rooms, but a cordless phone is available to guests with calling cards. Well mannered children are welcome. We regret having no facilities for pets. $25 for an extra person. $20 less, for a single person. The Inn is Open year round. The Gourmet Lobster Restaurant is only available during the High Season.

You gasp in pleasant surprise to have found such a jewel of a place. Once settling into this sea captains house, you relish the idea of something to eat after your long ride. Youre hungry, and you find theres several wonderful restaurants in this quaint, antique, colonial village, serving fresh produce grown in local gardens, with selections from the sea so near, on this gentle coast, and from the fields inland. After a sound sleep, you awake refreshed! You cant wait to be outside in the fresh air! You walk to beautiful Blue Hill Bay, just 2 blocks from the front door. You stand on the Town Warf, behind the Firehouse, looking at the beautiful tranquil view from the Head of the Bay, or you stand on the little bridge, and watch the mallard ducks having their breakfast. A full breakfast is waiting for you, including a deluxe continental buffet. Maybe youll decide to have blueberry pancakes this morning. Or eggs benedict.. After breakfast, you can stroll to the Town Park on the Bay, and take in the breathtaking view of all sorts of boats in the sheltered harbor, with the mts. of Acadia Natl Park behind them, 20 miles away. On your walk back, youll pass 3 art galleries, gift shops and famous Rowentree's Pottery. When youre ready for some seriously stunning scenery, of mountains islands rising from the waters of Blue Hill Bay, you can hike Blue Hill to the top for a great workout, or through the blueberry lupin field the easy route, to see what the first settlers saw. Majestic, supreme peacefulness: Mountains, sky, water, islands in the Bay. You can drive to Bar Harbor, for a day in Acadia National Park, or take an ocean tour of Stonington on a real Lobster Boat. Or visit Castine, home of Maine Maritime Academy, and take a tour of their training vessel The State of Maine. Youll meander through distinctly individual, quaint, tiny villages built long ago, and still inhabited. And find artists studios in the woods. And views of tidal waters around the next bend.
