Barbara Lamb Born in Ulverston, Cumbria, Barbara moved to the North-east to begin a teaching career. Having always had a desire to paint, it was not until 2000 that Barbara put brush to canvas.. Lesley Coates Jones The paintings are optimistic and celebratory. Not seeking to imitate life, they anticipate and share the unexpected. The energy and excitement of the painting process, the intrigue and the mystery is what interests me. Painting is an act of exploration. Ken Jones He believes art is about itself, the motivation to begin and the physical and thought processes that bring it into being. It is also an inquiry into possibilities.
Nancy Murgatroyd Nancy Murgatroyd creates pictures in oils, acrylics and pastels. Her two interlinking passions are painting and developing her Georgian walled garden where she grows the flowers she often paints. Her pictures are designed to engage the viewer in a visual adventure. They encompass balance and contradiction. One flower on a grand scale exploding a blossom which is tiny. Still lives engaged in great activity. Abstract works that explore both the light and dark side of our thoughts. Aspects of landscape real and dreamlike in suspended animation. Some of these vibrant and colourful images are printed onto natural silks and cottons. Nancy then embellishes them with quilting, stitching, beading and applique to create living art textiles. These rich and luxurious pieces of work can be scarves, banners, throws, wall hangings, cushions or just beautiful objects. http://www.nancymurgatroyd.com. Back to Artist's Main page
