Our large restaurant, which is suitable for disabled persons, has room for up to 450 guests. The restaurant is divided into small and larger cosy sections, ie Strommen, Tyska rummet, Vintertradgarden and Borgrummet. Of course, there is a bar and a stage with dance floor. Every weekday we serve course of the day. During summers we offer evening barbecues in klostertradgarden, where we also selebrate. Through out the year we also offer other. such as shellfish evenings, tratidional skanskt Gasagille, Christmas buffet, and New Years celebrations. We are also readily arrange festival days, such as weddings, birthdays and other parties/functions. We also have resources to receive bus travellers. Bus menus include butter, bread, sallad, main dish, low-alcohol beer/mineral water, coffee and biscuit.

Here we offer culinary experiences for everyone. The sea and the magnificant nature on Bjarehalvon will give you a sense of well being and recreation. A country house with long history Hemmeslovs herrgard has a history that stretches far back in time. Already in the 14th century it was an estate, with land all around the region. The war between Sweden and Denmark reusted in many battles beeing fought in these regions. The danish guerilla, who where living on Hallandsas with regular brigands, contributed to making the region even more unsafe. It is hence not surprising that country houses where set up on both sides of Hallandsas, where travellers could stay to gather enough people to make a convoy. Even in the 19th century, travellers were attacked in this area by villains on a daily basis. The king of Denmark had to escape! On one occation, the danish king Fredrik III sought shelter at Hemmeslov. However, the Swedes found his hide out, and during his rash escape [according to the legend] dropped his sword, which can now be found in the so called tyska rummet. During the following centuries the destiny of the country house changed, and it was owned by some of the regions most famous families. The country house becomes a recreation site When Hulda and Philip Andersson bought the country house in 1918, they made it into a recreation site. The times were tough, and Hulda got and in the summer of 1919 Hulda came up with the idea to let rooms in the main building. Once again Hemmeslov got invided by the Danish, although this time with much more peaceful intentions, to eat and dring well!. The guests were picked up by uncle Whalfrid with horse and carriage at the station in Bastad. Even at trips to markets, or at trips to the beach, uncle Whalfrid was in charge of transportation. Uncle Whalfrid was by the way uncle to the worldwide known operasinger Birgit Nilsson. The history of the building Not two houses look the same at Hemmeslov, mainly due to the different purposes they were built for. Kvarngarden was a mill, Solstugan was a statarlanga, and Astugan was a hen house. The Du och Jag cabins were along with twelve similar cabins bathing huts. The Ulla cabin was previously employee diner, and in the house Lovisa, Lovisa were staying with her white cat, whose ghost still remains in the house... Bjorkegarden is made from wood, coming from a Free Church building. Kastanjegarden was built 1954. What is the white lady searching for? When the clock has struck twelve at midnight and you are on the third floor of the main building, you might see the white lady. Who she is, and what she is searching for no-one knows, only that she sometimes reveals her self in her endless wandering... Traditions of the rulers At Hemmeslov we are particular with traditions, and people are returning year after year to celebrate midsummer, shell fish parties, and harvest homes. For those who follow the traditions, we arrange dance with live music two Saturdays per month. To meet the demand for comfort that you have the right to make, we have restored our old country house. In the main building there are ten rooms, saloon, and two conferense rooms. We have 80 rooms in total, 50 of which are in newer part. Suitable conference areas for small to big conferences are also provided. We dare to promise that we can meet your desires regarding accommodation, food, and enjoyment. All year around!

All houses have their own little story from the long story of Hemmeslov.
