Here is a pavilion that suits for parties and dinners, for max 50 people. We can set up everything. Patrik Hilding worked nine years in the restaurant business before he started his own company Salta in April 2006. He arranges catering, dinners, weddings and parties. He started his career with a restaurant education in Varnamo, Tofta country manor, Hotel Sand and Hotel Kattegatt. Patrik has also got a grant for promising chefs. Ten kilometers away from Herrestad you will find the western town High Chaparrall. They will give you an amazing experience in a western surrounding among cowboys, Indians and Mexicans! Varnamo, the market town, is 13km away from Herrestad. The city has famous furniture designers like Bruno Mathsson and Kallemo. Varnamo and the whole Gnosjo region are famous to be a creative and formational area. There is also a very beautiful park called Apladalen in Varnamo that is perfect for walking and has a nice playground for the children. Visit the ski-attraction Isaberg, Sweden's most southern ski- centre. There are activities the whole year around. Walking or hiking in the nature reservation Store Mosse that also has an interesting museum with bird-watching. There are opportunities to have a guide both to the walking and to the museum. Golf Within a 30km area to Herrestad you can find three golf courses Gotalands GK, Lanna GK and Varnamo GK Cafe Herrestad is a cafe which is only 400 meters from the housing, come in and have a cop of coffee. Herrestad Sateri has an interesting history which dates back to the 14th century. Through the centuries Herrestad has been owned of several different people like governments, admirals, county governors and other essential persons. However, those who got most known were Johan and Emelie Petersen that bought Herrestad in 1813. Emelie got famous over the country as the Grandmother of Herrestad after she started a school and gave food and housing to homeless children. She also started a work organization for poor women so they could provide their own living. In the spring of 1996, after 10 years of football duty in Portugal (Benfica), Italy (Napoli and Roma) and Scotland (Glasgow Rangers), we got the opportunity to buy Herrestad Sateri. Here in Herrestad we found our paradise next to the glimmering Herrestad Lake, right in the middle of idyllic Smaland. In a careful way we have renovated and furnished the row of houses to a modern and pleasant bed and breakfast.
