Private Bed and
Breakfast on a working farm. One mile from the
centre of Peebles, in the Scottish Borders. The warmest of welcomes is guaranteed to all. We are 500 metres from the A703 Edinburgh Road, and just within the boundary of Peebles. The farm is Private and surrounded by fields and lot's of growing and mature forestry. There is an abundance of wildlife, deer, foxes, rabbits, squirrels etc. Birds are all around from the small wren to the large buzzards. From the farm door there are many walks on private tracks through the surrounding fields and forestry. Peebles is an old country town full of historic interest and has a
golf course,
swimming pool, and leisure
centre. There are many superb and reasonably priced
pubs and
restaurants within the town and nearby to satisfy all tastes and ages. Car
parking at the farm is
safe as there is no passing traffic, the farm road is surfaced in tarmacadem. Edinburgh is 23 miles from the house door and takes about 30 minutes by car. There is a half hourly bus sevice to Edinburgh. Our Scottish
breakfast is fruit juice, cereal or porridge, followed by bacon, sausages, free-range eggs, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Toast, butter and home made jams are on the tables,
tea and freshly made
coffee are provided. We cater for all tastes including special diets. The premises are
non smoking and we do not allow pets within the house. We have a small fold of pedigree Highland Cattle which are out-wintered and are bred pure. Highland cattle are derived from the original Scottish black cattle, much sought after by the cattle raiders of the 13th century onwards.
B B at Venlaw Farm, Peebles, Scotland. Venlaw Farm is a working hill farm beside the Border town of Peebles in Scotland. We keep beef cattle, a few Highland Cattle and our own free range hens. The house is a modern bungalow with
safe parking amidst beautiful scenery and with numerous unspoilt walks. The River Tweed, which is famous worldwide for salmon and trout fishing, runs through the beautiful Scottish Borders and attracts anglers from all over the world. Glentress Forest, which is Scotland's premier mountain biking destination, and the superbly designed Red Bull Elibank Forest trail system, at Innerleithen, which provides real mountain biking, are only a 15 minute drive away. Bird enthusiasts¿ can watch newly hatched Osprey chicks in the Tweed Valley Forest Park thanks to an automatic camera close to the eyrie. Live pictures of the ospreys are being beamed live to Kailzie
Gardens and Glentress Forest, just outside Peebles. Dawyck Botanic
Garden, which has a stunning collection of trees and shrubs. Gaze at exotic conifers dating back to 1680, and some of the tallest trees in Britain. The Scottish Borders is a region famed for its tweeds and cashmere knitwear. Browse, and buy, in the mills and
shops. Alternatively, visit the City of Edinburgh, the Capital City of Scotland, which is famous for the Edinburgh Fringe and the Edinburgh festival.
Tour Edinburgh Castle, Hollyrood Palace and the many museums, or the Royal Yacht Britannia, which has made Edinburgh Her new home. The warmest of welcomes is guaranteed to all. We have

lounge which has a log burning fire on cooler days.
Breakfast is taken in a large
dining room. All
rooms have

We are located about 500 metres up a private road at Crossburn one and a half kilometres out side Peebles on the Edinburgh Road and almost opposite the Shell
garage. It is well signposted at the foot of the road. The Maps below give a more detailed picture.
