Restaurant Sofia Welcome to our restaurant Sofia, where you can enjoy delicious food in a wonderful environment. We concentrate on a varied menu where you will find starters, main dishes and desserts. Why not try our specialty of the house Veal a la Oscar, served with lobster, asparagus and sauce Bearnaise. Our very special wine list makes your dinner complete. You´ll also find the breakfast buffet in Sofia, and it is a lovely start of the day. A large selection of juice, cereals, bread, coffee and the is waiting for you. Our chef with staff will do anything to make you pleased. Whenever the weather is fine, our outdoor restaurant on the hotels natural backyard is open. The outside bar is a perfect place for an evening beer or why not a drink before dinner.

73 Rooms - 140 Beds The rooms are furnished/ decorated with a personal touch and biggest comfort in mind. All rooms are fully equipped with - for instance - moviechannels, hairdryer, iron and minibar. The hotel also has disablement- and allergyadapted rooms. Our special ladyrooms are very popular among (our) female (and male!) guests. The ladyrooms have got those extras that woman need sometime - footbath, makeup-pads, canopy... On cold and rainy days it can be nice to defrost in our relaxing parlour. Sauna and sunbed, both free of charge for our guests. On behalf of our guests we also co-operate with the local gym which means free entrance and acess to the equipment. Ask for tickets at the reception.

Map Arvika is located in the west of Sweden. The closeness to the beautiful nature and the rich cultural- and craftlife makes Arvika a very attractive travel-arrangement. Travel by car: Follow the signs towards Centrum. The hotel is located at the corner of Kyrkogatan/Torggatan. Free parking for the hotels guests is available. Some of the parkingspaces have engine pre-heaters. Travel by train: The trainstation is located about 200 meters from the hotel. You cross the market-place, and continue straight up towards the church. Travel by air: The nearest airport is located outside Karlstad, app. 60 km from Arvika. The easiest way to get from the airport to the hotel is by airtaxi, their telephone number is +46 (0)54 -150200. Travel by boat: Arvika has Swedens innermost harbour, and you get here through Vikingaleden.This is a 80 km long waterpath between Arvika and Sffle consisting of Glafsfjorden, Bylven and Sffle Kanal. The guestharbour is located close to the centre of Arvika. 10 places are avai!able with a 1-3 meter depth. The distance from the guestharbor to the hotel is about 500 meters.

When the present owners took over in 1984, the name Hotel Oscar Statt was taken. This alludes to the restaurant- and hoteltradition that reaches back to the time when Arvika during a decade, from 1811, had the name Oscarstad. When the new owners took over they did a total renovation of all rooms, and a new kitchen was built. The name Oscarstad comes from a wish to honour prins Oscar (1799-1859), the only son of Karl XIV Johan. As a king he ruled during the years 1844-1859 and was the last representative in Sweden for a more personal royal power, holding all the government strings in his hand. The first tradesman in the house was the merchant E. Rosin, who bought Stadskallaren at an auction 22 January 1849. The owners of the hotel today, Rolf and Birgitta Jonsson, have brought the hotels positions towards the sober oscarian image that it has today.

Our co-operation with Arvika and Eda golfclubs makes it possible for us to give our guests a favourable golfpackage. The package includes lodging, breakfastbuffe and a greenfee. If you should manage to do a hole-in-one during a contest, the hotel will treat you with a bottle of champagne. Arvika golfcourse is located app. 12 km from Arvika in direction towards Karlstad.
