Hotel Arkaden can offer 23 neat, homely and individually decorated rooms, with a total of 42 beds. The types of rooms are: Single rooms Double rooms Family rooms (beds 3 and 4 in sofa bed). All rooms are equipped with shower/toilet, cable TV, telephone and wireless internet access. The family rooms have access to a kitchen and some rooms are accessible to the disabled. There are walking paths, a marina, restaurants and museums. Arvika is a pleasant town with around 14,000 inhabitants and a certain small town charm. Markets, festivals, trade fairs, music gigs, exhibitions and sports events help form the character of this thriving and friendly town. There are plenty of small shops in the town center and part of the town is pedestrianised. A public swimming pool, a bowling alley, illuminated exercise tracks and tennis courts. You will find all of this within the boundaries of the town, and at the outskirts you can find the delightful sandy bathing beach Ingestrand. By the way, if you want to switch beaches every now and again there are 365 lakes within the municipality! If you're looking for downhill skiing there is one slope just outside of town and more in Valfjallet a few miles north-west. Or maybe you prefer enjoying the winter scenery ice skating on one of the lakes or horseback riding in the country-side? Our beautiful winter landscape is well known thanks to the works of artists such as Gustaf Fjaestad. More than a hundred years ago Fjaestad and other sculptors, painters and craftsmen living by lake Racken formed the so called Rackstadkolonin. Today you can admire their art at Rackstadmuseet.
