Our Rooms Hertig Karl offers all you need for a comfortable over-night stay. We have 12 rooms with a total of 29 beds. All our rooms are tastefully furnished to give you satisfaction and a feeling of home. All rooms are non-smoking, but for the person who wishes to smoke there are rooms with their own balconies. The rooms are equipped with TV, radio, private shower and WC. The broadband as well as a choice of film channels are included in the price. Each room has its own personal style At Hertig Karl no two rooms look alike.

Hertig Karl Bistro Monday - saturday between 12.00-20.30 we're having bistro at the hotel, where you can enjoy anything from a snack to a three-dish. Our Bistrobar is also open, but is closed at 22.00 When the weather allows you are welcome to enjoy your drink and food on our air restaurant and terrace.

Welcome to Hotel Hertig Karl Hertig Karl is a comfortable small hotel with a personal, cosy atmosphere of friendly hospitality. The hotel is situated in the middle of Drottninggatan in central Filipstad. From its calm surroundings in the old part of town you can easily reach the historical buildings. The hotel is a charming patriarchal villa from the beginning of the 1900´s, which has been carefully renovated to comply with all the demands which are made on a modern hotel without spoiling its historical charm. Hotel Hertig Karl welcomed its first guests in the summer of 2001. It has quickly become a popular and natural choice of the businessman as well as private guests visiting Filipstad. The hotel is named after the founder of Filipstad, Duke Karl later Karl IX. The hotel has its own free parking area in the yard. The hotel is a non-smoking hotel. At Hertig Karl you have access to the entire world. Free broadband allows you to surf (8Mbit/sec.) from your own room. You are welcome to use our guest computer, which you can find in our nice lounge, if you haven´t brought your own laptop.

Find your way Hertig Karl is situated in the centre of Filipstad, a stone´s throw from the church at the crossing of Vikgatan- Drottninggatan- Bryggaregatan, about 3 minutes walk from the bus station. If you arrive by car, drive towards the centre. In the roundabout at Statoil gas station you drive towards the church. Turn right when you have come to the church from there you can easily see the hotel. Follow the white-dotted line on the map and you will find your way.

In order to guarantee your room because of delayed arrival, we need your credit card number or payment in advance, unless other arrangements are made when booked. Always include your booking number when informing of your delayed arrival. Cancelling must be made before the booked arrival date to avoid unnecessary charges. Special booking arrangements are necessary in conjunction with holidays and special events. We follow the national rules of the Hotel/Restaurant Enterprisers´ regarding booking and cancelling.
