Lindsay Guest House is a listed red sandstone Victorian building of great character, and has been sympathetically and tastefully decorated throughout preserving many original features of the house. It maintains a high standard of cleanliness and delights guests with attention to detail and finishing touches. Located in the highly desirable and quiet residential area of Merchiston, and with the added attraction of the Union Canal at the rear, two buses directly outside take 10-15 minutes into the town Centre and all the major attractions Edinburgh has to offer. Alternatively you could take a leisurely walk along the Canal into town - approximately 20-30 minutes. A huge bonus is private parking to the front of the house, making this an ideal location for anyone traveling by car. The Craiglockhart Sports Centre and both Myreside and Meggetland playing fields are within walking distance as are the Napier University Campuses at Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Craighouse. Lindsay Guest House is convenient for those needing to attend George Watson's College, Merchiston Castle School and the Corn Exchange. It is also well placed for buses to Herriot Watt University's Riccarton Campus. For those wishing to attend Rugby Internationals, Murrayfield stadium is only a crowd's roar away. Edinburgh has numerous quality golf courses both within the city itself and in the surrounding areas. Nearby Bruntsfield and Morningside offer excellent shopping with many specialist shops and boutiques. Our standard cancellation policy. Should you cancel your booking less than 48 hours prior to your date of arrival or in the event of you not turning up, we will debit the cost of your first night of stay against your credit card or retain your first-night deposit. Our non-standard cancellation policy. This policy applies to any bookings made during the following periods: New Year (last week in December first week in January). Six Nation Rugby International weekends (selected weekends in February and March). Edinburgh Festival (all of August). Local Holiday Weekends. During these peak periods, should you cancel your booking within 3 weeks of your date of arrival we will debit the cost of your first night of stay against your credit card or retain your first-night deposit. In the event of no show or in the event of cancellation within 48 hours of the date of arrival the Guest House reserves the right to debit the booking in full. For bookings cancelled in advance of either policy commencing, your card details will not be used in any way or any deposit made will be refunded in full.
