About Pax Guest House. Little did Seamus Kelly know that when he dug the first sod with his brother for his cottage in 1847, that the cottage would develop over the intertwining years into a haven for that special guest whose appreciation for stunning locations and peace but within walking distance to a town centre is paramount when deciding where to rest their heads.. The size and comfort of his familys home have changed but there are two keystones that have remained steadfast in over a century and those are the warmth offered from the home and all those that help run it, to the panoramic view that Mother Nature has temporarily loaned us. It is my dream to make this home a place where all guests will leave with smile, knowing that they have had a chance to savour what I see every day and never tire of, and for that I am honoured to be in a position to continue the family tradition going back over 110 years of offering a cool pillow and a warm bed. Getting to Pax House from Tralee (via Conor Pass) As regards getting from Tralee to Dingle. Take the N86 from Tralee, you will pass Blennerville, about 12 miles out of town, there is a choice of routes, there is a fork in the road. If the weather is fine and there are no clouds on the mountain top, then I would take the lower road, the one on the right and it is marked as Castlegregory-Connor Pass, this will take you over the mountains and into Dingle, the views are great but you need a clear day, towards the summit the road does narrow and there is room only for one car but there are areas that one can pull in and let oncoming cars pass you by, jjust take your time and all will be well, but it is worth it. Arriving in Dingle from Conor Pass When you the you arrive to Dingle there will be a T junction, the Old Smokehouse restaurant will be opposite you and a pub (1 of 43) will be on the corner to your right, its yellow in colour and called The Small Bridge. Take a left here and go up the hill 1 km, at the top of the hill, just as it starts to slope downwards, there in a corner veering to the right, go around the corner and Pax House will be on your Right, its white in colour. You go through the villages of Camp and then Annascaul (at the end of the village on your right there is a pub called The South Pole, blue and white in colour and it has tables and chairs outside - well worth a visit). Then you will pass by Lispole and after this village there is a 4.5km stretch of straight road, at the end of the 4.5km there is a very wide corner, (the first corner after the straight) as you take the corner slowly you will see black and yellow warning signs, there is good visibility and there is a side road off the corner right in the middle of the bend, this side road will be on their right, take this side road, it's marked Baile an Mhamhnaigh and go up the hill at the top of the hill the is a T junction, the stop signs reads Geill Sli, take a left here if there is no on coming traffic, carry on till you come to Pax House, less than two minutes away.
