Villa Fairview is located at 8A Catherineberg, which is the historic street running from the Government House to the Governor's Mansion. It was sloped for an easy carriage ride. From the Pool Deck, the view is over the Town to Hassel Island in the Harbor. The Villa was built in 1848 by the Simmonds Family. The views from the rooms and pool are of the town and harbor below. The rooms are all with private bathrooms, Cable TV and are decorated in traditional Danish European furniture like Room #1 here. The stairways are bricked with the original ballast bricks from the old trading and merchant ships. The Suite, #10, was the former Living Room of the Villa. It opens onto a small terrace to the left of the photo, which overlooks the Town and Harbor. This is the most spacious room in the Villa Fairview with the Best Views. Room #8 on the Upper (Garden) Level. Some rooms have the original handmade floor tiles, like Room #4, others the original style pine wood floors. Rooms start at $875 and go up to $1200 per month, double occupancy, Water, electric, telephone, and Cable TV included. One month's rent and $600 security required. You can reserve a room with $600; it will convert to security when you arrive. Cancellation up to 30 days in advance of arrival $100. Less than 30 days, $300. Leaving early will be pro-rated at $450 for the first week, $300 for the second, and $150 each for the last two. In the second month, $275 per week, $60 per day. Advisable to reserve two to three months in advance. Rooms are outfitted also with a small fridge, microwave, and toaster oven. A common kitchen is available if you care to really cook!
