Linareva Pareus, to tie or for decoration, are created with stencil or painted by hand by Elep. THE EXCLUSIVITY OF THE FAUURA OF MOOREA CREATIONS : Fauura Bouteau, jewelry creator, reinvents the shell. She transformed her passion into a real profession. She gets her inspiration from her past and her experience. After living in Paris for twelve years, she came back to Tahiti and started to tinker with necklaces, to keep busy, like she says. Out of pleasure, then by necessity, this pass-time becomes a job very quickly. Fauura's jewels reflect her image: voluntary, original and at the same time traditional. Personalized, they have the Fauura touch, the unique style which characterizes her; a mix of Tahitian culture, and French sophistication. They can be worn everywhere, from Tahiti to Paris, going thru New-York, for a night-out, or on the street. This Grand Lady of Tahitian Arts and Crafts business was recently decorated with the biggest French distinction: the Legion of Honnor. Distinction recompensing the example of social and cultural promotion, which constitutes the professional activity of Fauura. Her creations reflect the ancestral know-how, uniting the respect of art rules, the traditional Polynesian spirit and contemporary tendencies. They are shaped by hand with the choice of local materials such as: shells, polished mother of pearl shell, burgo shell (Fauura's big speciality), several finely-worked vegetal fibres, as well as cotton.
