City Tours, to the Copiapo Valley, to the beaches and to National Park Pan de Azucar, where you can observe a variety of cactuses. Historic Mining Tours. 1. VISITING LAGUNA VERDE: This beautiful lagoon is located at 4.200 m. Near the border with Argentina. The trip goes by the foot of Ojos del Salado Volcano (the highest active volcano in the world and the highest mountain in Chile), with 6.893 m. In this place there exists a hot spring. The trip takes the whole day from Copiapo or Caldera and it is possible to go the whole year round. 2. LAGUNA SANTA ROSA: It's at 3.600 m in the South end of Salar de Maricunga and at 154 kmts from Copiapo. You can find a great variety of altiplanic birds, the most impressive are the Flamingos, known in the North of Chile as Parinas. We start our trip from Copiapo or Caldera and we can go the whole year round. 3. FINCA DE CHANARAL: It's an important place of the Camino del Inca (Inca's route) with interesting pictographs (more than 100). It's at 120 kmts from Copiapo. 4. COPIAPO RIVER VALLEY: In this trip you can see some of the prehistory and some of the important present of this River. When you go from South to the North of Chile, this is the last important River before getting Loa River, in Antofagasta Region. Here you can visit a 15th Century foundry and The Lautaro dam. 5. PAN DE AZUCAR NATIONAL PARK: Located at 30 kmts. North of Chanaral, it's a very typical sight of coast desert. Here we will take a trip by boat to Pan de Azucar Island to visit a Humboldt Penguin Reserve. 6. VISITING PUERTO VIEJO AND CALDERA BEACHES: We can make a trip visiting all the beaches South of Caldera (the Capital of Tourism in Atacama Region). We start from Bahia Inglesa and go visiting the most beautiful beaches up to Copiapo River Mouth. Then we visit Puerto Viejo, named before Puerto Copiapo and that had to disappear by the train construction. 7. LAGUNA DEL NEGRO FRANCISCO: At 4.200 mts. at the feet of Volcan Copiapo. It has the most of flamingos (Parinasin the north of Chile). It´s the most important place of Nevado Tres Cruces National Park. We can perform each of these trips in a whole day.
