Recreational activities near Hosteria de la Colina. At 2,840 meters, snowcapped Volcan Villarrica is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile. Take a guided
tour to the lava-filled crater at the summit and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. Hike to picturesque waterfalls and crystal clear Andean lakes while identifying local flora and fauna in nearby Parque Nacional Huerquehue. Take a wet and wild ride white-water rafting or kayaking on the class IV Trancura River. Get to know the area on a mountain

The Hosteria's location directions: Villarrica neighbors Pucon 500 miles southeast of Santiago: 10 hours by car or bus from Santiago, 12 hours by train, or 1 hour by plane to Temuco, then 1 hour's drive from Temuco to Villarrica. Arriving from Temuco: Head South on Ruta 5. Continue 27 km until you reach the town of Freire. Follow Villarrica signs which lead you onto a cloverleaf turn over the highway. Continue East another 55 km until you reach Villarrica. Cross the bridge over the Rio Tolten. Go 7 blocks until you reach Gen. Korner. Turn right. Continue 9 blocks until the road T´s at Presidente Rios (you will cross the main street, Pedro de Valdivia). Turn left. Continue 3 blocks until you see a large sign for the Hosteria on the right at Calle Las Colinas. Turn right and follow the gravel road up to Hosteria de la Colina.
