It is one of the four main streets leading to the city church. Goethe came from Erfurt in 1775 through this street, so that he could take up his first residence at the church square. Coming in from the autobahn A-4 direction Dresden or Frankfurt: Exit Weimar. Follow the signs and turn towards the direction Weimar.
