Some excerpts from the website of Catherine Ward House Inn that might be useful
For any occasion, from a first time visit to a romantic getaway to a business trip, the Catherine Ward House is the best way to experience Savannah in style. We currently do not have a liquor license and therefore cannot serve liquor at the Inn. Guests may bring their alcoholic beverage of choice. We happily supply glasses and an endless supply of ice. Each morning, you are served a full breakfast in our dining room. We try to be ready for the early birds who get up at the crack of dawn and we keep the frying pan warm for the sleepy heads that just can't pull themselves out of bed. We understand that not everyone is on the same schedule. Since most of our guests are on vacation, we try to be flexible. Also, let us know when you are making your reservation if your have any dietary restrictions or preferences and we will try to accommodate them. We understand emergencies so we let you cancel your reservation up to three days before you arrive with no penalty. After that, we will have to charge you for one night if we cannot rent your room. If it is a holiday weekend or a big event (St. Patricks Day or New Years Eve), we may lengthen the time to ten days that you have to cancel you reservation with no penalty. In any case, we will let you know when you make your reservation if we have any cancellation policy in place. Our normal check-in time is 3:00PM. We plan our day around your anticipated arrival time. If you are going to be more than an hour late from the arrival time on your confirmation, please call us. If you get to town before your guestroom is ready, you can check-in, leave your luggage at the inn, park your car, and get an early start on your Savannah touring. Our normal check-out time is 11:00AM. However, on your checkout day, you can check-out of your room and we will take care of your luggage until you are ready to leave town. Because of the surroundings, we ask that all guests be at least 14 years of age. We do not ask for deposits except for special occasions. We take deposits for holiday weekends or for big events, like St. Patricks Day or New Years Eve. When we do ask for a deposit, it will be for the amount of one nights stay. We also take a one-night deposit per room when one group books four or more rooms for the same time. In a few designated guestrooms, we welcome dogs as long as they bring their human along with them. The human has free run of the Inn but dogs must stay in their guestroom. The dogs (and humans) must not cause any disturbance that would inconvenience another guest or a member of the staff. We are close to the park which is a great place for dogs and humans to walk. There is a one-time $25 Pet Fee. We send and receive faxes for guests free of charge. We sell Gift Certificates for any dollar amount. If you would like to treat someone to a night or a weekend at the Inn, you may do so by purchasing a Gift Certificate at the Inn or by telephone. High-Speed Wireless Internet. For our business travelers or those who just cannot leave their laptops behind, we offer, at no charge, high-speed wireless internet access throughout the Inn. (Warning! We are innkeepers not computer experts. We barely know what we are doing ourselves when we get on the computer. Therefore, we do not and cannot guarantee the wireless internet service we provide will be compatible with every computer. If your computer is not compatible with our system, we can offer recommendations of other wireless hot spot locations in Savannah.). We have established a relationship with a licensed masseuse to come to the Inn to give in-room massages to our guests. If you are interested, we can make an appointment for you or we can give you her telephone number so you can discuss the type of massage, rates, and appointment times directly with her. Just let us know anytime before you arrive. The Inn, all common areas, and guestrooms are non-smoking areas. Smoking is allowed on the porches, balconies, and in the courtyard. If you are not coming, do let us know. We hate sitting up worrying about you. Unfortunately, we will have to charge you for your entire stay if you do not show up without contacting us in advance. We are located on a quiet, residential street where there is usually plenty of on-street parking. On the rare occasion it gets crowded, we are allowed to use a small parking lot across the street from the Inn. Reservations Itineraries. To enhance your Savannah experience, we have partnered with many Savannah businesses to offer you special care when you visit. We are always ready to schedule appointments, make reservations and plan itineraries for you before you arrive or after you have checked into the Inn.

It is natural for guests visiting a bed and breakfast for the first time to have questions. Hopefully, many of your questions have been answered on the Amenities page. But recently, some of our recent guests have been First Timers and we have compiled a few of their most common questions. What is the difference between a BB and a hotel? At the Catherine Ward House Inn, we feel like company is coming to visit. You should feel like your visiting a friends home. Yet, once you have checked in, it is up to you to decide how much time you want to interact with us and other guests. We have some guests that we only see at breakfast. We have other guests that we see several times during the day and get to know very well. We dont impose. We let you decide. What time is breakfast? Breakfast is usually between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. When we have a full house, we have to have two sittings for breakfast. We try to work it all out depending on tour schedules, checkouts, etc. We try to stay flexible for those one or two folks who have to get up very early or may sleep in. How early can I get coffee? Coffee is usually ready by 7:00 AM. If you need a coffee fix before then, we will show you which button to push on the coffee maker and where the cream and sugar are located. When can I go into the kitchen and what can I use in the kitchen? Our kitchen is very small and the Fire Marshall does not allow our guests to do any cooking. However, you can enter the kitchen at anytime. You can help yourself to glasses, ice from the freezer, and ice buckets to keep your wine cool. What does my key lock and unlock? All of the guestrooms have deadbolts that lock from inside the room. Your guestroom key opens your guestroom, the front doors, the kitchen door, the door to the courtyard, and the door to the lane in the back of the carriage house. If I'd like to leave a gratuity for the Housekeeper, how should I do this, and what is an acceptable amount? Leaving a gratuity is not required. However, doing so lets your Housekeeper know that you truly enjoyed your service, and appreciated her exceptional personal attention. It is acceptable to give the gratuity directly to your staff member, or leave it in the guestroom when you checkout. Generally, guests will leave $5.00 for each night stayed as a gratuity. What if I arrive in Savannah earlier than check-in time? If you get to town before your guestroom is ready, you can come to the Inn. You can check-in, leave your luggage at the Inn, park your car, and get an early start on your Savannah touring. What if I want to spend the day we are checking out continuing our tour of Savannah? On your checkout day, if you have a late flight or if you just want to spend the day in Savannah before heading home, you can checkout of your room. We will take care of your luggage until you are ready to leave.

The Catherine Ward House is one of the most elegant and comfortable inns in Savannah. Each of our nine specially appointed guestrooms has either a queen or a king size bed and its own private bath with shower. A couple of baths have a two person Jacuzzi and one room even has a two-person shower. All of the rooms have beautiful old fireplaces and mantles. In some rooms, the fireplaces still work and in others, we have allowed them to retire. Most rooms open onto porches and balconies leading to our quiet, green courtyard with a fishpond and fountain. All of our rooms have complimentary robes and hair dryers for you to use during your stay. There is cable television, a small refrigerator with free water and soda, and CD/clock radios in every room. Cosmopolitan Room - Luxury. When Catherine left Savannah in 1913, she sold the house to the proprietor of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Savannah. We chose that name for this room because it suggests the high style of this chic room with private its own balcony. Neutral colors are enhanced by the black marble hearth, chocolate silk drapes, bamboo blinds, warm wood tones, mirrored back splash and dark counters of the wet bar. Custom king size bed, antique Asian night stands, original artwork and a 32 flat screen TV mounted above the fireplace mantel and behind a mirror only begins to describe this rich room. Tile and mirror bathroom with a two-person shower adds another dimension making The Cosmopolitan Room as unlike a typical bed and breakfast experience as you can imagine.
