Some excerpts from the website of Zlota Plaza that might be useful
The building of the pension was constructed In 1928. It is a spacious, two stories villa which before the liberation of Gdask by the Russian Red Army, was occupied by a German family. After the World War II this building, devastated and completely ruined, was taken over by The Polish
Radio and
TV of Bydgoszcz. After necessary renovations the villa was transformed into vacation
center, which later, in 1980 was given to The Polish
TV from Warsaw. It remained in possession of The Polish
TV until 1996. During the last years of The Polish
TV ownership little was done in terms of maintenance and upkeeping of the villa, with the exception of sporadic changes in its furnishing, which contributed to a significant degradation of this property. In 1995 The Polish
TV organized an auction. As the result of this auction the building has obtained a new private owner of the villa. The new owner took lot of pain and hard work to restore the old splendor to the building. The first and most important element of the renovation were the
bathrooms which were equipped with modern
air conditioning system. Also the roof was covered with new roof tiles and the last floor was slightly elevated. The attic was transformed into the a luxury
apartment consisting of the
living room,
two bedrooms and a large
terrace with a splendid view of the Bay of Gdask. The exterior walls were refurbished as well, and the driver was covered with cobble stone. The windows were protected by the anti-burglar
security system. Shortly after the last renovation work, the villa, known since than as Zota Plaa, hosted the first guests.
The most important feature of the pension Zota Plaa. is undoubtedly its location, and this is precisely what attract so many guests. The villa is only 50 m from the sea. Zota Plaa. is its proximity to various means of public transportation to Gdask, Sopot and Gdynia, including tramway loop providing access to all neighbourhoods of Gdask, a bus lines leading to the city electric train (SKM) and to Sopot. restaurants and fast food
outlets (beer
pubs, pizzerias,
