There are flights to Malaga from most regional airports, but El Aguilon is closer to both Jerez and Gibraltar. Ryan Air fly from London Stansted and Frankfurt Hahn to Jerez. Monach fly from Luton to Gibraltar. BA have flights from Heathrow and Gatwick to Gibraltar. Air Berlin also fly to Jerez from several German Cities. Directions from Malaga airport: You should take the A7 (the new motorway which runs southbound from Malaga). It's a toll-road so you'll need approx. 20 euros or a credit card handy. Directions from Gibraltar airport: Check with your hire car company before you arrive that you will be collecting your car from the Spanish side of the border or you may get caught in a lengthy border queue which can sometimes take hours! With the Gibraltar / Spanish border behind you, turn left and head west towards San Roque. Head towards the mountains you can see to your left, keeping the sea on your left. After approx. 5 km you will come to a junction with the main E5 coast road dual carriageway. Once you reach Algeciras, stay on the by-pass and avoid the LH lane which disappears down a tunnel to the port! Keep following signs to Cadiz E5 N340 After Algeciras, the road becomes the N340. The luxurious accommodation, handsome Andalucian horses and surrounding Natural Park - not to mention the beach, make El Aguilon pretty unique if youre looking for the perfect combination of comfort, fine horses and superb riding country. From October until May, this area is a riders paradise... The countryside is at it's best, the weather is perfect and the rugged country and long white sandy beaches are just made for exploring on horseback. We offer a number of trail-ridingweeks throughout the year. These are carefully planned routes using the cork-cutters' tracks through the woods and old smugglers' trails down to the beach. Lunch is often a picnic under the trees or at a little tapas bar on the beach. At the end of the day guests can unwind in the luxurious comfort of El Aguilon. Riding at El Aguilon is a truly exhilirating experience, but you dont need to come for a full week of trail-ridingto enjoy it. We have reliable horses to suit all standards, and while some people may want to ride off into the hills for the day, other clients may feel happy with just a couple of gentle rides through the cork forests combined with some lessons in our sand arena during their stay. All clients are accompanied by our experienced guide who is proficient in English and Spanish. In the hot summer months, guests can lie by the pool in the shade of the orange grove during the day, and still enjoy an evening ride. Its light until 10pm so theres plenty of time for a gentle hack before dinner. Dont forget that you can book a session with the masseur if needed! We use English saddles, but Spanish saddles are available. We do our best to ensure that riders are of a similar standard. We also try to keep the groups as small as possible (maximum 6). These trail-riding weeks are also ideal for non-riding partners who will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the swimming pools, tennis etc. at El Aguilon.
