Brothaigh House is only ten minutes from Edinburgh City Centre on one of the many buses that pass our door. Edinburgh has one of the finest bus services in the world so you should not have to wait more than a few minutes for a bus. There are ten different buses that run between Brothaigh House and the city centre. There is a single flat fare, covering any distance, of £1 per person. Alternatively, £2.50 will buy you an All Day Travel Ticket which you can use on any Lothian Bus anywhere in the city as often as you wish until midnight. It is really excellent value for money. The bus numbers to and from Princes Street are 3, 3a, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37, 37a, 47 49. After midnight, the N8, N31 or N37 will take you to and from the city at a cost of £2 for all night travel. Edinburgh boasts some of the world's finest attractions including The Castle, Holyrood Palace, Royal Yacht Britannia, Whisky Heritage Centre, The Tartan Weaving Mill, and many more. There's free admission into the many art galleries and museums. As well as having excellent pubs and clubs, Edinburgh has a wealth of fine dining in top class restaurants. Don't forget the wonderful shops in Princes Street and The Royal Mile. Why not take a tour round the city in an open-topped bus. The hop-on, hop-off Edinburgh Bus Tour takes about one hour and the live guide will give you a brief, informative and amusing history of Edinburgh. This will give you a chance also, to choose which of the many fantastic attractions to visit. Remember, your ticket lasts 24 hours and includes discounts on the entrance price to certain attractions. Please ask Graham or Carole for a special discount voucher before you purchase your Edinburgh Bus Tour ticket. Edinburgh claims to be one of the most haunted cities in Europe. For those of you who do not know the meaning of fear, try one of the fantastic Mercat Ghost Tours and experience the darker side of Edinburgh. Tours run several times each day leaving from a meeting point in the Royal Mile. We can also arrange a day trip to the Highlands and Loch Ness, or Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and Stirling Castle (Braveheart Country) and many other parts of beautiful Scotland using Gray Line Tours. DIRECTIONS FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT. It is very simple, but if you have any problems please do not hesitate to phone and we will direct you in (0131 667 2202). Once you leave the Airport head towards Edinburgh on the A8, when you reach a large roundabout. Follow the signs for the City Bypass, A720 (the City Bypass begins at this roundabout so you can only go one way). Travel along the City Bypass for about 10 miles until you come to the Straiton Junction (the junctions on the Bypass all have names rather than numbers). Leave the Bypass at this junction heading on the A701 towards the City Centre. Keep on the A701 for about 3 miles, going through four main sets of traffic lights, until you come to a major traffic light junction at Cameron Toll. Continue straight on again on the A701 City Centre and Brothaigh House is about 350 yards on the left just before the overhanging traffic lights. Alternatively, you may take the Airport Bus which takes 30 minutes to the city centre costing £3.50 single and £5 for an open return. From the bus terminus, cross Princes Street so that you are on the same side as the shops and take the bus number 3, 3a, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37, 37a, 47 or 49 to Craigmillar Park taking around ten minutes and costing £1. The bus stop is called East Suffolk Road. You may wish to purchase an all day travel pass costing £2.30 allowing you to travel anywhere in the city on as many buses as you wish. This is excellent value for money. A taxi from the airport to Brothaigh House takes around 25 minutes costing around £20. For more information on Edinburgh Airport, follow the link.
