This service is open to anyone whether you are: * A Bride Groom severing their first bottle of champagne as part of the toast. * A conference leader breaking the ice with all members of the group. * Or you are just here for a meal or a drink but would like to be involved in this fun and fascinating tradition. Sabrage is the opening of champagne with a sabre. It is an old art and tradition which was started by French Cavalry Officers in the army of Napoleon. The secret behind this is to hit the champagne bottles annulus with the sabre at the right angle and with the correct degree of force in order to send the cork flying spectacularly through the air. Members of our team have been trained in the art of Sabrage and our Maitre-Sabereur is Chris Thompson who is a Chevalier of the Order of Sabrage - Guests may then try this art and be invested as Sabreurs of the Order and receive a certificate. Chris or his Deputy-Matre will allways be on hand to ensure that safety is observed. Click here for more information
